Soda can "MP4" player will leave you thirsty... for dignity
Finally, an MP4 player that suits our lifestyle. When we're out on the street, feeling the hot rays of the sun, hustling to stay afloat, and generally just jamming, the Neux Corp. Ltd. NXMP324 is what we want. Sure, you can't actually crack this puppy open and gulp it down like a real soda, but you can take a sip of the funky combination of 128MB to 4GB capacities, MP3, WMA, WMV, WAV and ASF file support, built-in USB 2.0 jack, and bonus FM radio. Seriously though, the can comes in red or blue, but there isn't a color in the rainbow that would convince us to buy this thing.

If you could put soda inside of it, I'd might consider, but that's just a stupid device wearing a stupid outfit.
Marco @ Feb 25th 2008 8:25PM
If you could put a soda inside it you'd consider it???
Dude, if you drink enough soda to justify buying an mp3 player just to hold them, you're getting a visit from the diabetes fairy.
Bobs @ Feb 25th 2008 9:09PM
I thought you supported the consumption of sweets with that MC Pee Pants avatar.
bi0hazard @ Feb 25th 2008 9:22PM
There's a diabetes fairy!?
but seriosly, why does it just have to be soda in there. why not be able to put the drink of your choice, like water or something?
Yubastard @ Feb 25th 2008 9:29PM
or alcohol... you know, like beer... there, I said it lol
must be awesome to carry around an MP4 player the size of a soda can in you pockets.
bi0hazard @ Feb 25th 2008 10:17PM
i pity the poor soul that finds this in a desert and thinks its a drink...RIP

OR, and I maybe going out on a limb here, that it could be more convenient to carry one device that holds a beverage AND plays music, rather than hold two separate things. I maybe have possibly been trying to convey my message along that line.
*drinks soda*
Marco @ Feb 26th 2008 5:06PM
Okay, I stand corrected. You're going not to be a diabetic.
If holding a twelve ounce soda AND a three ounce mp3 player sounds like too much work for you, you're like two cans of Cheez Wiz from being the Comic Book Guy.
Bobs @ Feb 25th 2008 7:14PM
but... why?
James Ollier @ Feb 25th 2008 7:57PM

The headline made me LOL. "Thirsty for dignity" is priceless.
Richard Lai @ Feb 25th 2008 7:21PM
I just feel sorry for the artist whose name is printed on the "player".
k2001 @ Feb 25th 2008 7:40PM
The Chinese character is coca cola
Richard Lai @ Feb 25th 2008 7:48PM
@k2001: I meant the screen. Jay Chow.
Andrew @ Feb 25th 2008 7:57PM
They should have made it into a pepsi can.

Only Chinese song I have is Fearless by Jay Chow
benjasmine @ Feb 25th 2008 9:15PM
this song (霍元甲 by 周杰伦) was not in the US release of the movie, right? This song was not played at the end of the movie in US, not sure if it's in DVD.
By the way, to people who don't know what we are talking about, the song and artist name on the player's screen, Huo Yuan Jia by Jay Chou is the theme song for the movie Jet Li's Fearless.

Wow this is such a cool Gadget... Maybe while your at it you could post some real tech news like the fact that stage6.com is shutting down.
Imsaffor @ Feb 25th 2008 7:42PM
wtf is stage6.com. so srry. but id rather hear about a silly sodacan mp3 player than a website i never go to.
Rafer @ Feb 25th 2008 7:50PM
Your really read engadget and dont know what stage6.com is?
Reader @ Feb 25th 2008 8:01PM
Whoa this is news to me. That sucks, it's like youtube but with super high quality vids. Seriously though, there should be an Engadget article on that.
Rafer @ Feb 25th 2008 8:10PM
Aha they did post about it on Engadget HD... I sent it in lol. My faith has returned.

Yep, just been to STC and no divX streaming anymore just that damned agriya FLV from the Chinese sites.
Imsaffor @ Feb 25th 2008 8:28PM
The point I was trying to make was that just because the article your reading doesn't suit your interest, doesn't make it a crap article. They are writing for a rather large demographic with varying interests.
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Feb 25th 2008 8:38PM
Obviously it's shutting down because alot of people have no clue what it was. Like me for instance. First I heard of Stage6. Ohwell....
Boynamedsue @ Feb 25th 2008 7:35PM
if that thing is actually soda can sized it better support a listening time of about 2 years.
Rainier @ Feb 25th 2008 7:36PM
dumb

For those times when an iPod rattling around in your car's cupholder just won't cut it...

Try getting this past airline security.
Shadowfox952 @ Feb 25th 2008 7:51PM
It would be freaking awesome because you could download different types of soda and drink them.
KML @ Feb 25th 2008 8:08PM
...what? I hope that's some good weed you're smoking.
Jherez @ Feb 25th 2008 8:17PM
Lmfao! That comment was superb shadow, you made my night. Best comment on this page so far
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Feb 25th 2008 8:37PM
This would easily be possible with todays miniaturization. hell If you can have a phone watch or video watch( i do of the latter). Hell I might make one myself. all you would need is a bladder of some kind that would protect the electronics. I think PEPSI would look nice splashed all over that. Really great idea.
Quenches two thirsts at once.
Fernando @ Feb 25th 2008 8:44PM
I actually think it's "cute" :P, I'd buy it

TSA agent: Sure mp"4" player, do you think im dumb, now drop your pants and try not to clench
Tired_ @ Feb 25th 2008 10:17PM
If this was made by the Whup-Ass Corporation, it might not be so bad.
Steffen Jobbs @ Feb 25th 2008 10:23PM
Not quite the "Belch" iPod killer. Let's toss the can in the can.
skulldriveshaft @ Feb 25th 2008 11:07PM
I can hear the can openers starting to turn, mp3 players to get new padded cup holder spacers.
nobody would bust up your window to get a soda can.
it would also make a great place to store your ... ahem ... headphones ... ahem
Arcanum @ Feb 25th 2008 11:45PM
does it come in diet?
Ronald Turlington @ Feb 26th 2008 4:48PM
I think it's a cute idea, actually. And you can stick that one in yer can.
jruschme @ Feb 26th 2008 5:36PM
It reminds me of a Coke promotional AM radio that I had back in the 70's. Basically, it looked like a plastic Coke can with the speaker on top, a twist-off bottom for the battery and the usual protruding volume and tuning dial.
Slap the right logo on it, add a promotional tie-in for free/cheap MP3 downloads, and it might be a hit.
(And it will fit in the cupholder of your car. :-)
jenny @ May 19th 2008 4:16AM
looks interesting, i really love its design.
MP4 watch is a novel idea that has finally become reality. compared with the mp4 watch above, these ones' design seems a little ordinary..........
