Yeah, just like that and Sony's got a new iPod dock / clock radio -- the ICF-ClipMK2 -- which comes in both black and white with line-in for $100 this May. Also announced, the clippable DRC-BT15 Bluetooth A2DP / AVRCP receiver and SRS-BT100 30 Watt A2DP speakers. The Bluetooth gear is out March for $130 and $160, respectively.
Wow, Sony is really pushing technological design these days. Love that high-res alarm-clock LCD display, especially with the cool back light. Fantastic match for an iPhone.
LOL I have this thing. It woke me up to come read an article about how great it is! And no its not Gsm shielded :( but it works beautifuly with the iphone regardless of that annoying noise that you can just turn off by enabling airplane mode.
Actually, the model is ICF-CI1PMK2, and sounds like a good deal, with some amazing reviews on Amazon... Maybe I could allow a little lift on the Sony ban for that speaker
So the phone extends up over the top of the device and obscures the snooze button? What are the odds that in my sleepy state I slap at the snooze and knock the phone to the ground?
What are the odds that Sony didn't test this with actual people?
Steve B, thank you for pointing that out. I was giving some serious thought to purchasing this to use with my iPhone until I read your comment and looked at the picture again. On the other hand, I was 10 minutes late to work today. Making it just a little harder to get to the snooze button might not be a bad thing.
The older model was called "ICF-CI1P" where this version is "ICF-CI1P MK2", but they are physically identical. I own the older one and I did pay about $80 for it.
As far as I can tell the only difference with the new MK2 model is full iPhone compatibility. The original version I have included a note that says it works fine with the iPhone, except that it displays a message when you connect it that says the dock is not iPhone compatible, but you just hit OK and it works. (I can't say for sure, I just have an iPod).
It's a nice dock but I think this is just a tiny update to a product already on the market rather than something new.

I'm assuming that those are both GSM shielded...?

I love how Sony is releasing stuff for mp3's they don't produce... Fail.

There has got to be a better way to title that...

I got that as an open box special at Future Shop for about $80 Canadian 3 weeks ago. It works really well.
I thought that ipod clock radio was already out. I swear I've seen it at most electronics stores, and it only cost around $80, not $100.

Looks very outdated next to an iphone, especially the lcd.
ew.
I'd spend $100 more for
- a better display
- a better docking design
- shielded speakers
