It's confirmed: Apple's next event is scheduled for March 6th, next Thursday. It'll be a Town Hall event; obviously
new MacBooks and MacBook Pros aren't to be expected, but the unambiguous "iPhone software roadmap" and the image above should help guide our assumptions as to what will be discussed. The
SDK's a given, but "exciting new enterprise features," eh?

Sora267 @ Feb 27th 2008 7:33PM
You can now wirelessly connect to any pier within a 50 mile radius of you to check the status of any boats. Duh.
Secret Squirrel @ Feb 27th 2008 9:21PM
I hope it's not Lotus Notes for the "enterprise" surprise...
YoJIMbo @ Feb 28th 2008 10:26AM
An iStarship?
Jimbo @ Feb 27th 2008 1:05PM

phanbouy @ Feb 27th 2008 1:07PM

I LOL at you three!
phanbouy @ Feb 27th 2008 1:28PM
Thanks we'll be here all day. The shrimp scampi is fab-u-lo-so. Tip your waitress.
xbit @ Feb 27th 2008 1:28PM
"lisp?"
Objective-C, I think.
Blaktornado @ Feb 27th 2008 2:50PM
xbit, didn't you learn anything from your college years?
Nerd talk doesn't get you friends... or laid...
Anton @ Feb 27th 2008 3:00PM
Damn! That is a lot of "Highest Rated" comments!
DWells55 @ Feb 27th 2008 3:47PM
Blaktornado, pretty sure he wasn't aiming to do either. At least I found it funny.
telepheedian @ Feb 27th 2008 4:51PM
Ah, come on, we all know it's going to be Turtle.
randompass @ Feb 28th 2008 6:07AM
COBRA!
Jimbo @ Feb 28th 2008 1:05PM
Who would of thought adding a few 'sss' to the end of a word would spark so much discussion!

Matt M @ Feb 27th 2008 1:07PM
It would be nice if they added full Exchange support to the iPhone.
MauMan @ Feb 27th 2008 1:35PM
Me too; that's my bet on why "Enterprise" is on the roadmap.
Jeff Zander @ Feb 27th 2008 1:42PM
Yeah, and it kinda looks like, if you turn the map just a tad, that the "Enterprise" sign is coming from "Up North" and headed right down into California and the out East...
Brendan Sheehan @ Feb 27th 2008 1:57PM
Not to get you too excited, but that "exchange" job post link on Jobs.Apple.com seems to be gone now: http://jobs.apple.com/index.ajs?BID=1&method=mExternal.showJob&RID=12122&CurrentPage=4 Hmmm :D
Ryan Trevisol @ Feb 27th 2008 2:10PM
I'm hoping FMPro makes it to the iphone under the enterprise portion.
I wouldn't be surprised if they use the flash and bang of Lotus Notes, Exchange Support, and FileMaker to distract from the downsides (i.e. the sdk isn't ready, and apps will only be available through iTunes with a lengthy, costly, and free-ware prohibitive signint process).
But that's just my black-cloud opinion.
itguy07 @ Feb 27th 2008 3:24PM
You should smartly move from the POS known as Exchange.
Problem solved.
Matt @ Feb 27th 2008 1:07PM
I hope this includes the iPod Touch, as well.
Andy K @ Feb 27th 2008 1:16PM
Oh, it will include the Touch as well I'm sure. If you're willing to shell out another $20+ most likely (Yes. I'm still bitter about that.) to upgrade.
James @ Feb 27th 2008 2:33PM
Why should you have to pay $20 for something that should have been included in the first place?
Lucas Gladding @ Feb 27th 2008 3:13PM
Because it wasn't included in the first place probably. There are lots of things that would be great to have on the iPhone and iPod touch, but that doesn't mean we're entitled to them.
T-Bone @ Feb 27th 2008 2:54PM
@James: Why should it have been included?
Cash @ Feb 27th 2008 4:05PM
@T-Bone
The real question should be: Why shouldn't it?
Oh, and when did you become such an Apple brand Kool-aid junky?
Peter @ Feb 27th 2008 1:08PM
What, not a Tuesday?!?
Will Kinsey @ Feb 27th 2008 1:15PM
Well that would be following a 2008 tradition of Tuesday launches, but in the ways of SDK, why not be a little more late.
Iain @ Feb 27th 2008 1:16PM
Finally Apple is going to break with that stupid Tuesday of every week pattern. Seriously the other days of the week are getting irate about it!
Fraser Drew @ Feb 27th 2008 1:29PM
They are only breaking tradition as they are being forced to - They need to get this SDK out of the door for the sake of Stock etc; and it obviously wasn't ready for this week, and next week there is a stock holders meeting on the tuesday - and the fact its on a thursday shows Apple wants it out the door ASAP.
Richard @ Feb 27th 2008 1:15PM
3G iPhones.
Will Kinsey @ Feb 27th 2008 1:16PM
Why not wind up battery packs we wear in hip packs of the 80's full of lithium-ion batteries?
TedB @ Feb 27th 2008 1:18PM
Can't be.... there is no hardware sign on the map...
Richard @ Feb 27th 2008 2:38PM
Yes, but the road keeps going. That's a small portion of the whole map in the picture.
Matt @ Feb 27th 2008 3:59PM
@ TedB
Yes, but it does say that it's just a "software roadmap"
sw @ Feb 27th 2008 6:30PM
3g iphones that run on Mr. Fusion
iKrolm @ Mar 1st 2008 11:44PM
has apple ever gone with the newest technology if they didn't make it themselves?
i like apple, but i'm not holding my breath for a 3G iphone
CassilineKnight @ Feb 27th 2008 1:20PM
I can't wait...
I really want an iPhone but I want it to truly be capable of all the stuff that other smart phones can do.
phanbouy @ Feb 27th 2008 1:22PM
Is your name really Cassiline? That's kinda awesome.
MBN @ Feb 27th 2008 7:19PM
I totally agree. I drool every time I see one, but then I think: "No cut'n paste, no tasks, no notes sync? Awww crap!"
Backlin @ Feb 27th 2008 1:22PM
What happens after Software Update? There's nothing on the map!
Jeff Lewis @ Feb 27th 2008 1:24PM
The World Ends.
Apple announces they're switching to Windows Mobile! (j/k)
