Brookstone converts Sharper Image gift cards into practically worthless discount
What's worse than being forced to hang with your "pals" as they peruse the aisles of Sharper Image? Why, perusing the aisle at Brookstone, of course! In an admittedly ridiculous ploy to solicit business from now-shafted Sharper Image gift card holders, Brookstone is attempting to do the world some giant favor by converting any Sharper Image gift cards or gift certificate into a 25-percent off discount for its stores. Unfortunately, the individual with a $1 gift card and a $20,000 gift card get the same lame-o discount, and better still, the deal isn't valid on the few things in there worth a darn Sony, Celestron, Bose, Panasonic and Tempur-Pedic items. Thanks for nothing, Brookstone.

Brookstone didn't have to do anything. As for the quality of products, you can get this stuff anywhere including Amazon, so if you're going to chide Brookstone for their wares, then you have to apply that everywhere. We buy junk at any price, and don't need nearly any of it. But that's capitalism.
I sit here reading this sensless garbage from you idiots bashing a company for doing what companies do and that is make money. Question??? How many millions of dollars have any of you idiots made this year??? Brookstone gives consumers a product that is cost effective for them and makes them the most profit. What foolishness is this to believe that a company would give up it's profits to give consumers a top of the line product when the average consumer is extremely happy with the product as is! Business 101 you should read it you IDIOTS!!!
OK. So I don't claim that Brookstone or SI are great companies but seriously though, You guys sound like a bunch of bitter old ladies that most likely are ex Brookstone employees fired for some reason or another. Further... Don't fool yourself Sharper Image will not recover from this Chapter 11 or not. Instead of sounding like a bunch of bitter old ninnies try looking at the positive side of this. No more stupid Sharper Image plugs in lame movies and late night informercials.
yes it is what it is, is it wrong for Brookstone
too give the discount ?? I think not just good marketing
I had 400 bucks to sharper image. It sucked. I seriously went the day after the bankruptcy date to find out that they no longer accepted it. We need some type of protection against that. Turns out, there is a company, and I quote from marketwire: "Leverage Inc. today announced a new bankruptcy insurance policy that allows customers holding gift cards purchased via its LeverageCard.com destination from Sharper Image and other merchants filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to transfer remaining, unredeemable balances to gift cards from other retailers available on the Leverage site."
