The Asian bootlegging community will go with BD9 (or 4.7Gb single layer), AVCHD or just burn H264 files straight to disk. After all, 4-5Gb will yield a watchable HD movie. Not great but certainly better than SD or DVD. It means they can burn DVDs just like now but support HD.
VMD is just being ignored and stands zero chance of making any traction at all. Anywhere.
