I am currently migrating all my files from my Vista OEM laptop to an external drive. Formatting to commence soon. WinXP, I'm sorry I ever doubted you! I've had it with this crap.
If you're serious though, like, I'll give you all the help I can; answer various questions and such, provide support for Ubuntu, various advice, my experience migrating.. ethana2@gmail.com (or whoever)
Ummm... what are you talking about? I'm ditching Vista for XP, I'm not switching to Linux; that would be dumb, since I like operating systems that actually *DO* things.
Over the past 6 years I've had first-hand experience in Knoppix, Red Hat, a couple different versions of SUSE, Feather Linux, and of course the highly-praise Ubuntu. While I was going to school for my computer programming degree I used Red Hat rather extensively to develop C++ applications. Ignorance has nothing to do with my dislike of Linux. My previous statements stem from an educated preference for the simplicity and intuitive design of Windows XP.
Your ignorance rises from the fact that you claim Linux does nothing at all from your wording: "actually *DO* things."
It does lots of things. And if you give it a little time instead of bashing it constantly, it just might *DO* them better next week, and the week after that... All you're doing by claiming that there's nothing to offer is turning possible users/developers away and causing the same thought in their mind. Through ignorance breeds ignorance.
Andir3.0, stop being a douche. All I said was I like XP better than Vista (Why? Read article title.) and I get harassed by some random Linux evangelist who's so focussed on his mission to convert me that he can't even be bothered to comprehend the actual meaning of my comment.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

That's what they all say...

And apparently you like being ignorant as well.

@Andir:
That same argument can be used to support Vista.
