Our sources tell us Hanover is somewhere in Germany, but that's all we've confirmed so far. Luckily, while we might fall short with this whole "geography" thing, we did manage to sneak onto the show floor here at CeBIT 2008. Most booths are still heavily under construction, but we did manage to pick up a few scoops before we passed out from the paint fumes. Check out the gallery below for some quick booth snaps and artistically-framed exhibit hall exteriors.
"Our sources tell us Hannover is somewhere in Germany" Don't worry. Even most Germans don't know more about Hannover. It might just be the most boring and uninteresting place in the world.
One thing I noticed in this great shot of Asus motherboards: http://www.engadget.com/photos/cebit...nnover/671735/ In the 2nd poster from the left says something about "5 sec. to the internet" I am wondering if it is something about that new BIOS, the EFI. Also of note, this picture from ASUS eeepc with windows http://www.engadget.com/photos/cebit...nnover/671759/ Now if they would keep it the same price and make the screen bigger, I would really consider getting one.
I'm living in Hannover... and trust me, you can have some fun in our small city. Just ask for the "Steintor" and have some fun with the ladys doing the oldest job in the world :).
Nothing wrong with Hannover. One of the biggest exposition centers in the world.
At least the general public can go to CeBIT unlike the CES show in Las Vegas. Imagine the consumer getting to to to the Consumer Electronics Show in LV!
"Our sources tell us Hannover is somewhere in Germany" hannover isn't just somewhere in Germany, it's the heart of it! :) i would even say that it's the heart of europe! :) yes your right, i'm living there.

Something is telling me that the whole Engadget team is going to get a huge hangover.
At least they still have Cebit once a year.
And why do you say "might"?
I've got a bad feeling about Hannover... mostly because it's so close to Hangover.
Please please please don't forget to visit MeiZu's booth as they will supposedly unveil MiniOne/M8.
If you end up praying to the porcelain god, notice how different it is from ours... Enjoy the observation platform.

I went to CeBit in 2002. It was awesome and can be summed up in two words. booth babes.
Any event that is summed up with the words "booth babes" is something I want no part of.
