Razer intros Salmosa low-end gamer mouse
That "Speed of (the) Light" mouse Razer hyped? It's just the Salmosa, their new lower-end 1800 DPI, 1KHz polling gamer mouse with sensitivity adjustment and a slightly more reasonable $40 price tag. It'll be out in Q3, but something tells us by then you'll have found some other completely obvious way of spending two Jacksons.

"...some other completely obvious way of spending two Jacksons."
...booze?
Who has money for booze when you're collecting Pokémon cards???
I was betting on a half 8th...and cheap booze
Pokemon? Pfft. Yu-Gi-Oh was better. At least it made sense and didn't require you to buy freaking cards to make a move (wtf?).
I'm fairly sure that's better than the Diamondback, which was high-end in it's prime I believe.
Quality mice being the only useful 'gaming' peripheral, this might be a nice buy for someone who's still using their DELL standard mouse.
so its good news for low end gamers i guess
Sounds pretty close to "Samosa" which takes on an entirely different meaning where I come from :)
Are you talking about the meat filled fried pastry?
That's what I paid for my copperhead, and it's not exactly low-end according to Razer... 40$ is quite a lot.
For $40 you should get dual thumb buttons or no deal. Ill stick with my copperhead as well.
LOL. My G5i cost me $50, has 10 buttons and glows any color I want. Suckers.
i payed $40 for my DeathAdder and its basically the same specs as this new Salmosa. Plus its right handed, has blue LEDs and has a far more badass name.
1800 dpi is really all you need anyway unless you play on insanely high resolution.
I have found that my Wacom Tablet out preforms gaming mice.
I used my friend's fancy expensive gaming mouse for a week. It was nice, but then I got myself a Wacom Tablet and that blew the gaming mouse out of the water! Even my friend was impressed at the accuracy of the tablet with the mouse device on it!
The cool thing about it is that there are no batteries! The tablet surface powers the mouse or pen wirelessly!
I tried their top of the line mouse and hated its guts. That design just doesn't remotely work for my hand, with the thin top end and the huge bulge under the palm. I tend to just shift my mouse around by grasping it with thumb and little finger, a lot more precise, and that was all but impossible with any Razer mouse. I finally found a great mouse though... a Logitech Laser laptop mouse. Small, light and nimble, good stuff.
i grip my Razer the same you you described and i have no problems. which mouse was it? the Lachesis?
It doesn't even have any additional buttons... Bah you expect me to press 'R' to reload?!?!
This is so low end, it can't even be considered a gaming mouse, just a high DPI, low latency mouse corded mouse.
Plus, the problem with this, and all similar Razer mice, is that the buttons strech so far back, it feels weird on your finger when you press with the tip.
Is it me or does Razer's logo look like the Isle of Man's flag?
paid only $50 for my lachesis razer. It costs $80 but I managed to get a few discounts. 4000 dpi is probably more than I'll ever need but it is nice to know I have it.
I too, will stick with my copperhead. It's really intense for my pro-action, unfortunately, I've been told that in some pro-gaming leagues, bindings to the side buttons are not legal so... we'll have to see. -200 DPI cut meh, but the polling rate changes really rock. And apparently it seems to have quite the design. Win for Razer imho.
