We don't typically get worked up for over-the-counter, computer cases. The we stumbled upon the Bulldozer R4. If we were a 92-mm case fan we'd totally tap this. If you're wondering what those little pneumatic arms are for then check the video after the break -- a place where surreal overkill and CeBIT come to meet.
Dam!! if you didnt mention it i would have never have guessed it. also i would like to the GMC for never giving up in making ridiculous sized products... can't wait if they are going to make a Laptop or a mobile phone or a mobile phone the size of a laptop :P (i know silly)
Actually they seem to be more spring loaded than anything else. They close that heavy front door when the CD tray is pulled into the machine.
I think they could have easily done this with springs and not some funky pneumatic-looking shocks, but then it wouldn't be quite as fugly now would it?
Nah, I understand... Now if only we can get you guys to speak English... or Scottish even... First time I met a Geordie, I just couldn't understand a word.
Newcastle has the most concentration of bars and nightclubs I hear, I thinks it'd be a nice place to spend a night out.
Actually, of all places, York is purported to have the highest numbers of licensed establishments per capita - there's supposedly 365 of them inside the old city walls (which are a fair bit smaller than York is in total).
That's pretty much the biggest waste of plastic I have ever seen in one product. The name is definitely deserving GMC, It looks like it's built by them too, must of been the engineers of the Pontiac Aztec.
The Aztec was very much a love-or-hate looking vehicle. And contrary to its appearance, it's actually built on the Montana minivan chasis, so it's not an SUV (which is why some people regarded it as crap...looks like an SUV but does not hold up like one). I like mine, handles well, good cargo room, it gets decent milage (~23), and *I* like the looks (I don't care what you think!).
As far as the case goes, it would fit nicely with my computer room, where I attempt to maintain a sci-fi, Gundam-esque theme.
@Kamokazi: Amen. I also have an Aztec, and I like it. It gives you the (fake or not) sensation that you're protected inside of it, and totally isolated from the road, and I, as an anti-social, like that.
I also like this case. It goes very well with my industrial-themed computer/electronics room.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
This case scares me.
It would make me feel like I'm about to be kicked by a transformer's leg.
* but its definitely cooler than the cases I'm sporting here.
after seeing this case and then the Asus gaming machine(http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/03/eyes-on-asus-first-gaming-desktop-ares-cg6150/) that looks like optimus primes head, i think its fair to say that the case designers definately need to stop watching Michael Bay's Transformers.
It looks for all the world like an alien coffeemaker... does anyone else see that?
tits
i know what u mean

fugly tits
What do you want? im listening...
When I first saw the headline and picture, I immediately thought "General Motors garbage truck." But computer case?!
I was thinking along the lines of sci-fi from the 60s...
GGGHHHEEEEYYYYYYY
lol... Garbage Truck Chic
Actually I don't think this has anything to do with General Motors since it's a Korean PC Case company who made it - gmc.co.kr
Probably not the most useful feature if the case is under a desk.

I did, and they are for...nothing! Nothing at all, except looks.
Actually they seem to be more spring loaded than anything else. They close that heavy front door when the CD tray is pulled into the machine.

The pneumatic arms they do nothing.
"The goggles, zey do nothing!" Hehehehe
Damn... And I thought the NZXT Guardian was fugly...
Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army! Toon Army!
Nice to see a fellow Geordie boy on a massive American site! ;)
There are other Geordies on engadget =O
Hmm I wonder how many people are confused now...
At least one.
Newcastle_upon_Tyne
The only 'Geordie boy' I know of is Geordie La Forge.
Nah, I understand... Now if only we can get you guys to speak English... or Scottish even... First time I met a Geordie, I just couldn't understand a word.

I live between newcastle and Sunderland. Boo-yah!

Mackems FTW!
Christ, now that's one manly computer case!
Wow, that's so ugly it's kind of cool.
Looks like it should be called the "GMC dust-catcher". I could never keep this thing clean.
WOH. I'm afraid the disc gonna fall outta the tray :-p
Does anybody know if this thing actually reads the discs, or does it just do that with them?
I prefer the Asus Cylon.
Where I am from, to "tap" something you lust for, involves your penis.
no, you don't want penis involve with that hug fan. You should try thinking Robot Chicken style with the robot tapping everything he can.
Errm.... Transform and roll out?
where can I get one of those?
the dollar store?

Haha, the aztec. Man, that car was such crap.
Hey, I drive an Aztec! And I like this case!
...and I'm not joking...
The Aztec was very much a love-or-hate looking vehicle. Everyone I know who owns an Aztek loves it. I don't see where it looks any worse than a Honda Element. Talk about another butt ass ugly car...
haha GMC sure has a sense of humor, at first i thought that stupid ugly ass case was real
die, minimalism, die!
...or...
someone's been raiding the props department again
Steve Jobs just curled up into a ball and died.
You mean Jonathan Ive, surely?
Steve Jobs? Jonathan *his surname is classed as misspelt by the OS X dictionary* Ive? They're both the same person! *grabs a tin foil hat*
