BlackLine's GPS Snitch tracks straying partner's joyrides
Oh yeah, we've seen GPS devices intended to sit secretively within the confines of a motorcar and beam back real-time tracking data to the powers that be, but typically, they're fairly subtle about their purpose. Not so with the brashly named GPS Snitch, which makes no bones about its intentions of helping you catch that unfaithful SO or your rebellious teenager. As expected, this unit simply hides within one's vehicle and can notify administrators via SMS / e-mail as soon as motion is detected or a pre-determined perimeter is exceeded. Additionally, you can track the vehicle's progress through BlackLine's website, and just in case the week of battery life isn't enough, it can be hardwired to the car battery for logging extra long road trips. Ready to quell your suspicions? Grab one now for $399 plus applicable service plan fees.

heh... snitch...
Now i can hook this up to President Bush limo and track is moves lol
that's proooooobably not a good thing to be saying in comments, if ya know what I mean... er.. well, I guess you don't..
But can it play Doom when you are banished to the inevitable wasteland of single life?
No, but it will play "Where in the world is Carmen Santiago?".
Screw gay marriage. This technology will be responsible of undermining the institution of marriage as we know it. Will someone think of the children?!?
I wouldn't track my partner, but I would track my cat: I'm sure he'd tell me where he goes, if he could talk. Unfortunately the gps-snitch website is all hype no fact. How big is it? What does it weigh? Seems like they lock you into a service plan, too -- that low, low $399 price just isn't enough.
If the person I'm with has so little trust that they resort to this...well, her ass will be on the curb and I would hope that the next person she finds really does cheat on her.

Our job here is done.
I like your thinking.
Yeah, where is the transparency? Why don't they show any screenshots of the service, or provide more details on pricing? Sounds very dodgy. Googling "gps vehicle tracking" or "gps security" and there appear to be better options than this. These guys at least show what the software looks like: http://www.gpspolice.com/ Okay, there is a monthly cost, but at least you're not locked in. Not bad. Now if they can just make it an iPhone version--that would be cool. /// Patrick
Do you want an iPhone version so you can track yourself?
Because nothing says secrecy like a box with the word "SNITCH" emblazoned on the front under your partner's car.
There are other devices you can use to track your driving. The DRS-1100 device, http://youtube.com/watch?v=LXl8VvFyxp0, uses a GPS module and a digital camera to save driving data on an SD card for later review on a PC. It integrates googl'es maps so you can see your driving path & speed, etc.

But can it track my iphone?
Hmm, not that I condone it, but you can do the same thing with a $40 boost mobile prepaid phone. Just remember to add $10 to the account every 3 months. See here: http://mologogo.com/. The phone is here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8628782&type=product&id=1194052611570. Or an i415 on ebay for less.
But does it play doom?
No but seriously I would not use it to track familly members I would use it as an anti-teft device where as if someone manages to steal my car it would be traceable and possibly even aid in dismantling certain car theft organizations. One has to remember that many theft groups hire low-end thiefs that do not always take nessesary precautions before driving off with stolen wheels!
How nice would it be to be sms'ed if someone is stealing your car? Or even just being toed away for some reason. You can immediatly call the cops and say, my car is being stolen live and I have its GPS coords! Give me 1 grand and I will let you track it all the way to the warehouse! ;)
This is GREAT technology. I could have used this about 14 years ago. Then I wouldn't be locked into a loveless marriage where the only thing I have to live for is the real-estate.
