Tattoos are about devotion AND PAIN! It's a cathartic experience that helps one sublimate away the pain of whatever experience has led them to mark it's occurance with an artifact on their skin as indelible as the one left on their soul. So I think an HDDVD might have been appropriate (for an HDDVD fanboy or a Toshiba exec), but since we're talking consoles here I think we all know what it should have been.

The one tattoo that I have represents my entire life goal, my ultimate aspiration - and even then, it took some thinking time before I could commit to having it inked into my skin. People who do shit like this demean the art.

i own a ps3 and not an xbox (i sold it)
1. xbox has no good exclusives
2. terrible hardware
3. i wasted 500+ dollars for something thats not reliable
4. just dont care for the system.

So many great games. I have a friend who shares my love of snes games and we have played at least 100+ games together over the internet using zsnes over the years. It's still providing fun!
There shall never be a console as great as the SNES. The stars were perfectly aligned when Nintendo made that system.

Why do you think this is the first PS3 tattoo? I admit I have not witnessed anyone with a PS3 console (don't think it would look very good) on their arm, but I have seen plenty of MGS tats, even some MGS4 ones. Since it's unlikely that MGS4 will get ported to the 360 (not saying that Kojima would never do anything with the system, but if Kojima Productions tries out another full console game, he seems more interested in the Wii).
Nice bit of irony that there's a copy of "Our Dumb World" underneath his arm.

i'm quite surprised at how much debate is taking place over the internet about my tattoo since i posted that video up.
did i ask for sites to write about it? does it really matter what i, a totally insignificant cog in the machine do? i'd like to bet that most people whining about this are quite happy to walk around in their logo/band emblazed t-shirts, listening to ipods and wearing brand name trainers.
how is this really any different from any other tattoo people get done? it's my life, my choice. and i find people hating me for doing something that effects them in no way at all. i think that says alot about the society we currently live in.
You are a retard. The problem is that you have permanently emblazened the logo of a specific console. Most certainly it is your choice...your tragically stupid choice. It would be one thing to put a Playstation logo on your arm. But the fact that you nailed it down to the PS3 of all friggin things. It's the video game equivilant of getting a Ford Fiesta tattoo. We can sit and argue how great the PS3 is but the reality is that it's going to be obsolete sooner rather than later, and your going to be stuck looking like a moron for the rest of your life. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem schilling crap for the man, I like a good t-shirt with a brand name on it and I wouldn't even really have a problem getting a tattoo of a brand if it was funny or cool enough, but you (and that Zune dork) just make me sad inside because one day, whether you know it now or not, you WILL regret getting that tattoo, and we will be there to laugh and deride you. Welcome to the internets.
Ah yes, but I can change my shirt when I no longer like the design/company/product anymore. Plus, unlike a piece of technology, a company doesn't get replaced by newer versions.
Also, can you explain how using a mp3 player to listen to music is anything like branding your body with a product name? At least it's something that's being used for what it was made for and can be tossed in the garbage when you no longer want it.
While I certainly agree that it's lame and unfortunate for all these folks to be hating on your choice of tattoo, I'm not sure I would agree that this behavior is indicative of any particular condition of our modern society in any significant way. As a PS3 fan surely you are at least somewhat familiar with videogame internet subculture and the kind of hateful and immature comments often found in places like this. You may not have asked to be written about, but I assume this picture was taken and posted online with your consent. What did you think would happen?
As for the rest of you haters: there's more to life than being cool, and theres more to being cool than simply endorsing something current. I'm certain this guy is well aware of the fact that his tattoo is permanent and the PS3 is an electronic commodity that will undoubtedly be obsolete in a few years. I don't see why everyone feels the need to point that out.
As for me: I don't have a PS3 nor do I have any immediate plans to get one. I do have a 360 which I use everyday and am completely satisfied with. Oh and then there's the Wii which I have mounted to the small of my back and haven't turned on since RE4 but we don't really need to talk about that.
