New iPhone design leaked on iTunes? Highly unlikely.
Knowing how rampant the Apple rumor community can get, we try not to stir the pot too feverishly, but iLounge has made a bizarre little discovery that we thought you might like to see. Apparently, it's already possible for iPhone / iPod touch developers to create pages in iTunes offering content to limited groups of users. While perusing these pages, they apparently stumbled upon the Education First Educational Tours page, where international travel tour registrants can download TourCast audio and video content. Strangely, an odd, almost Zune-like device can be seen in the corner of the graphic for this page bearing the Apple logo. Could this be some wild slip? Is what we're looking at a rendering of a new iPhone or touch device, or is this some random mockup meant to suggest a "general" Apple product? We're strongly, strongly leaning towards the latter, though maybe Jobs let one slide through the cracks this time. See the full view after the break.

Yay more useless iPhone speculation.
yay, a dumb ass that red and commented on something that doesnt interest him.
or blue.
or green. maybe yellow. but i'm pretty sure he blue.
Looks fugly like every other apple product
Here's the link to directly see it

I can't believe I didn't see this! I was just there last week!
@brian peppers
bravo on the name!
he did blue it. or he blue...perhaps..you? :)
Felt this was appropriate: (If you know the song and hate it then you'll hate me for this, just like I hate myself...)
I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you walk out the door!
I don't care how much it costs, I'm buying it.
Yah and when that little monstrosity turns out to be real you'll be hearing, "it's not that ugly in person"
it matches the look of the rest of the apple line right now, such as the imac, so it looks 100% real. I would expect to see this as the next iphone.
remember when the nano fat leaked? everyone assumed it was fake but it was ugly enough to be true.
this sirs, is ugly enough to be true as well.
its possible
iPhone ver. 2.0.0 leaked

lol, Brian Peppers calling something ugly. How ironic.
Tablet computer running the same OS as the touch and phone.
looks like maybe a rough mock-up of the original iPhone design... It looks like the LG Prada mixed with the current iPhone.
Looks like another one those iPhone ripoffs to me!
Looks like a new Nano - they revise every year. There's no ear piece if it's a phone...
Dude, this rumor existed when the announcement of the iphone didn't happen. I saw it myself. Someone must have put it in so tech blogs can go crazy.
Even if they took this photo with the current crappy iphone camera, it would still look better.
Looks more like iDeck, Apple's deck of cards.

Wow, is that your flickr account? I noticed your third picture is of the 'welcome to Whitehorse' sign... I lived in Whitehorse for 18 years before moving to BC. Kind of cool to see someone from Whitehorse on Engadget (assuming that this is your flickr account).
looks real to me. Specially the black glossy band around the screen, very much like the imac. iPod Pro? I think a tablet running the touch/iphone OS might be a good guess by Ian...
Looks like an iPhone/iPod touch in a desktop dock or a cradle to me but then where would the home button be :/
Where are slits for the speaker and mic areas? Looks like a last-minute mock up to me.
Well that's just great. I just ordered an iPhone today.
I'm betting on larger tablet like device running the iPod Touch OS.
Um it looks almost the same as the current itouch/Phone. A little more square and awhile "home" button section but big deal. Honestly I HOPE this isn't a new design as it seams kinda lame with little change over the last gen.
How much are they supposed to change? It's a screen in rectangular shape. You want them to add a juicer or something? Maybe a waffle iron?
I want them to give me the ability to change the song without having to take it out of my pocket and look at it everytime I want something else.
They did that with the headphones.
They already gave you a way to change the song without taking it out of your pocket (iPhone only). Just double click the microphone. A single click will pause/resume or answer/end a phone call but a double click will skip to the next song. Reading the manual FTW.
It was probably a design mockup.
This is completely off-topic, but I can't live in peace until I get an answer to this: what the heck is with all these Paper Mario avatars??? Is it some weird inside joke I've missed?
@ Yours Smugly
It's the default profile picture for Joystiq.com the video games blog in the same family as engadget.
I think this is the result of Phil Schiller's rumor brainstorming yesterday... XD
You know, you may be right.
yep, spot on...
The design doesn't look very "applish" either. I hope they don't release that.
We also said that about the 3G iPod nano, we'll see.
...and the 3G iPod nano turned out to be horrible looking.
It sells well though, and I guess that's what counts.
Ah its Mr Phil Shiller and his 2pm New Apple Rumors brainstorms.
Really looks more like a Zune :(
if i understand this correctly, apple itself didn't even make this page? why would some educational tour company be privy to insider information? then again, it would be total marketing genius on their part to stage this: tons of college students (aka their customers) read these blogs.
that looks so ugly. and apple wouldn't make it white... white has been milked for too long
its not white, its sitting in a small dock.
That thing is so ugly i wouldn't care if it did have 3G and 32 GB, i'd stick with my 8GB EDGE.
why?
Is engadget a major stock holder of the iphone? Every third article talks about it.
There is a reason why the Apple related articles tend to be the most popular articles on Engadget and that's due to dumb asses like you coming here to complain about it, and then subsequently coming back to carry on arguments with the people that log in just to tell you to shut up. In other words, whining generates lots of page views.
http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/20/tired-of-iphone-and-or-apple-news-on-engadget/
Learn it, live it, love it. And stop whining, you big baby. And that goes for all of you crybabies whining about Apple stories on Engadget.
I'm pretty sure Ryan Block has already explained that they CANNOT invest in any company they write about.
