New iPhone design leaked on iTunes? Highly unlikely.
Knowing how rampant the Apple rumor community can get, we try not to stir the pot too feverishly, but iLounge has made a bizarre little discovery that we thought you might like to see. Apparently, it's already possible for iPhone / iPod touch developers to create pages in iTunes offering content to limited groups of users. While perusing these pages, they apparently stumbled upon the Education First Educational Tours page, where international travel tour registrants can download TourCast audio and video content. Strangely, an odd, almost Zune-like device can be seen in the corner of the graphic for this page bearing the Apple logo. Could this be some wild slip? Is what we're looking at a rendering of a new iPhone or touch device, or is this some random mockup meant to suggest a "general" Apple product? We're strongly, strongly leaning towards the latter, though maybe Jobs let one slide through the cracks this time. See the full view after the break.

thats what i was thinking!
just looks like a touch in a new dock.... maybe a new touch or iphone in a new dock, but definitely looks like the two may be separate.
You guys are obsessive. Looks to me like its none of the above. Rather, its not a tech devise at all. I guess I'm pushing it too, but couldn't it just be like a plaque looking thing relating to education?
I don't believe this is a new iPhone, but I am curious as to what Apple would call the new iPhone if they did release one. Everyone is calling it iPhone 2.0, but unless you've been under a rock for the past 3 days, you should know that the new software update is 2.0. Meaning that the iPhone 2.0 is already coming out in June, it's a software update. I believe if Jobsy was going to release new hardware, he would have called the software update 1.2.0, not plainly 2.0. Complete speculation of course, but I wanted to express my opinion on the matter. Any thoughts on what a new iPhone might be called?

Unfortunately, because engadget steals credit, their filter wont allow me to either name that blog, or even link to the blog.
To say this is Zune like is ridiculous in my opinion, it looks very attractive and also very much in keeping with Apple's current industrial design trends.
A slab of Aluminium, around 8mm thin, with a multi-touch screen with next to no border, very nice if you ask me.
@Ian – The actual proportions of the screen aren't radically different to the current phone/touch, but because these are in such different cases I think it is misleading people. Draw a 320 x 480px box (current screen) in a graphics editor, drag it over the image of the device and scale it down (keeping the box in proportion of course!). Almost an exact fit!
That said, I just don't think they (Apple) would be so, well… careless. Also the question about the receiver does bother me. How do you hear the person on the other end?
