Sarotech's Wizplat NAS-20 makes stealing fun
If you've grown tired of the cold corporate design sensibilities of most NAS products (uh hem, Buffalo), then check the Wizplat NAS-20 from Sarotech. This 2-bay NAS box supports a pair of SATA disks for what should top-out at 2TB of roll-your-own storage on your gigabit Ethernet network. It features a pair of USB jacks, built-in iTunes and print servers, and even a BitTorrent server which should allow your home PC to take a rest from your 7 x 24 downloading scheme. Color us impressed while we wait for the price and ship date to be announced.

2GBs of storage? wow! i thought i'd never see the day!
Read again.
2 TB = 2000 GB.
That is seriously nice! I've love one, but getting it past the missus would be a real problem. Stupid women! They just don't get tech!
A duotone standalone thiefbox! An iron mountain for my erotica!
I must have…
2 hd bays meh...
a small linutop and usb HD's would work better. Run BT and PG firewall, as well as a dmz.
English?
@T-Bone
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus... duh!
"usb HD's would work better"
eh? You need to do some research.
I have an ebox-4854 (zonbu) running xp pro doing something similar using 3 USB drives downloading torrents all day and streaming media to the xbox 360. It was 80 bucks on ebay.
Stealing what exactly? The OLPC design?
:)
bittorrent server != stealing
I originally thought he meant that the handle on top would make stealing this box from someone else easy and fun. :)
@vipergts
No, no, Bittorrent has entirely legal uses (cough)...like...um..sharing your vacation photos...or recordings of your cat!
Needs to play doom and have at least 10 drive bays for maximum stealing ability.
Don't forget to blend!
Greetings meme-bot. All your stupid sayings are belong to us.
isn't it 24/7 not 7 x 24?
When you think about it, 24 x 7 makes a lot more sense than 24/7 (which =3.43).
And when you think about it (not as hard) as Craig, basic, proper usage of English and its colloquialisms != arithmetic.
I'm getting frustrated with Engadget's constant need to shroud the clarity of their articles with their own witty takes on already overused colloquialisms. I know Engadget strives to make their articles feel "new, hip, and fresh" but it shouldn't be at the cost of making us read over an article twice to decipher their own slang.
In any case, back on topic, you won't find "7 x 24" in an English dictionary.
you lost me when you said..."built-in iTunes".
"you lost me when you said..."built-in iTunes"."
I assume it means a DAAP daemon.
Nifty. Make it a decent price and offer other colors (i.e. dark blue, black, silver, or shiny) and I might be sold.
I thought when they were talking about stealing they meant carrying the thing into a company like a lunch box and downloading 2TB worth of corporate secrets.
Other colours? It's obviously designed to go with your OLPC :D
You would think that they could at least throw in Firewire or Esata in there..
