Olympus skins up the Mju 1020
Olympus pushed out the Mju (that's the Stylus over here) 1020 in a lackluster pre-PMA update back in January, but the company is trying to spice up the 10.1 megapixel shooter with a trio of custom skins designed by Romanian artist Matei Apostolescu. The skins are bundled with a special white-bodied 1020 and are apparently available now, but you'll have to act fast -- only 5,000 are being produced. Check the other two designs after the break.

I'm not sure whether Engadget chose to put the ugliest, the prettiest, or a random skin on the main page.
Geir E @ Mar 12th 2008 7:42AM
It is at least a good way to attract the subject you are photographing towards the camera. hope they find it funny, so it ends up in a smile.
trumpton @ Mar 11th 2008 4:25PM
That is on ugly mutha.
trumpton @ Mar 11th 2008 4:27PM
Damn! Curse Engadget's duff comment software that won't let you correct mistakes.
I meant to say that it was *one* ugly mutha.
I feel a bit bad for writing it out twice now too. It was hardly interesting the first time around.
Sorry.

My eyes ... my eyes are bleeding.
John Stracke @ Mar 11th 2008 5:34PM
Yeah, I don't think I want a camera that increases red-eye.
farfisa @ Mar 11th 2008 4:30PM
Wow, I can't wait for my eyes to stop bleeding!
spaceb @ Mar 11th 2008 4:32PM
Great camouflage! I almost didn't see them.
chopper @ Mar 11th 2008 4:34PM
Matei Apostolescu kicks ass!!!
These are very cool... and I'm sure alot of other companies will knock this idea off, offering skins for their own cameras as well.
Ayman @ Mar 11th 2008 4:44PM
Am i supposed to take pictures with them or hang them on the wall?
eugene @ Mar 11th 2008 4:53PM
Okay everyone, grimace for the camera.
L @ Mar 11th 2008 5:04PM
Even with a limit of 5000, I don't think they'll sell out anytime soon...
Ayman @ Mar 11th 2008 5:09PM
Dont be so confident
i was shocked when i saw people bidding on potato that looked like jay leno
mymaclife @ Mar 11th 2008 5:16PM
The only blessing is that you won't be able to take a picture of these shit things with the cameras themselves.
John Stracke @ Mar 11th 2008 5:32PM
Mirrors.
Anthony @ Mar 11th 2008 5:34PM
That first camera's gonna go great with my Eddie Van Halen replica guitar!
Shane @ Mar 11th 2008 5:47PM
Is 'Mju' a typo? Perhaps it's something like μ (Mu) instead?
In any case, those sure are some fugly cameras...
kevjohn @ Mar 11th 2008 5:49PM
The b+w zebra striped one? Not the camera to take with you on an African photo safari.
Matt @ Mar 11th 2008 6:03PM
It looks like a zebra exploded.
puxpux @ Mar 11th 2008 6:23PM

*In the tone of the best Microsoft fanboy*
Gosh endadget, get it together, who cares i a sub-par device is now avaible in a different color. You're just a tool for *insert brand name here*.
ubercool @ Mar 12th 2008 12:16AM
Sorry folks, but I love these! But I do agree that Engadget should have picked the multi-colored one for this article.
How much and when? ;)
ACEY RIOT @ Mar 12th 2008 3:11AM
as if olympus' p&s cameras weren't gay enough!, does this one come with a big old bottle of lube? and is the lube designed by some lame german artist?...the purple and blue one comes with a buttplug!
ACEY RIOT @ Mar 12th 2008 3:44AM
if my OWN skin looked like that i'd want to rip it off!
Down @ Mar 12th 2008 5:19AM
I guess I'm the only one who actually likes the first one (zebra). I like the design of the second one - If the purple was another colour, I'd like that too.
