Just a day after
LG's admission, Alltel's getting real with its mighty
Glimmer touchscreen slider, a phone that combines the
Shine series' glamor with the
Viewty's touchscreen sensibility. As expected, the phone features a 2 megapixel camera, comprehensive media and gaming capability thanks to 128MB of integrated memory, microSD expansion, 3D graphics acceleration, and an MP3 player. GPS is in the mix too, so all told, we'd say the $249.99 on-contract price after rebates is roughly within the realm of reason. Expect Alltel to accept cash or credit in exchange for goods -- the Glimmer, specifically -- starting tomorrow.
iPhone-clone of the week.
iPhone fanboy of the newspost.
What a stupid comment! In order to be an iPhone clone you would have to make it to mimic the iPhone design and functions. Just because it has a touchscreen interface doesn't make it an iPhone clone. If anything it's more like the Voyager than anything, which is derived from the Prada, which was introduced and released before the iPhone. I for one like this design way more than the Voyager design. You can use full QWERTY on the touch and still have a regular set of keys for everything else. Oh, and before anyone starts thinking I'm an Apple hater, I am typing this on my Mac and I had the iPhone for about a month until I gave it up and went with a regular phone and an iPod Touch.
Why? Because it has a touch screen? Just so you know, LG came out with a touch screen handset SEVEN years ago. Yes, as in the year 2001! It was called the Sprint Touchpoint 3000 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,28662,00.asp) LG had the Prada handset before the iPhone. Just because a handset has a touch screen, does not make it an iPhone rip off. If I'm not mistaken, the iPhone is a rip off of every other touch screen handset out there! Including anything Palm, HTC and Samsung. Really! Get over the Jesus phone and remember that there were cell phones with Touchscreen before the year 2007. Tool!
That's a sweet piece. Wouldn't mind seeing this on the important CDMA carrier. Get your crap together LG!
Oh, and #1 is a douche.
Wait? Alltel? Are you kidding?
I dont mind the phone on their network, but LG picked Alltel as an exclusive for the glimmer!?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
