This is not ment for playing games or storing all your movies and rubbish. if you read the article it says target markets are... "enterprise server, military, aerospace, commercial aviation, and industrial markets under harsh environmental conditions".
It can withstand 1500G of shock!!!!!! thats what solid state is all about. We put them on industrial machines and they are way beter than any HDD. You can ship them around the world and know they will work when they get there. they are not ment to replace desktop mass storage.
8Gb is enough as with this kind of device normally you would run XPe and have a rock solid machine, if you want mass storage .. go buy a hdd they will always be cheaper and bigger (for the forseable future anyway) however 128Gb is great for datalogging in the target markets.
At the moment you can buy them for the wrong side of $4000 but they will come down.
