Clear iPod case pulls double duty with rotating speakers
iPod cases with built-in speakers have amazingly been around the block a time or two before. We're guessing the reason shelves aren't flooded with 'em today has quite a bit to do with the presumably lackluster sound quality / output potential. Nevertheless, those hoping to find just a case for their precious new iPod classic need look no further, as the rotating speakers case for iPod is here to make your dreams come true. Reportedly, the $60.72 enclosure works just fine with 80/160GB iPod classic models as well as 30/60/80GB 5G iPods, but considering that each of the stereo drivers pumps out under 1-watt per, you should probably plan on tossing this bad boy over your right shoulder like we did back in 1985 in order to hear anything.

I know you can't tell how it'll sound by looking at it, but that thing just looks like it's gonna sound crappy.
I'm not impressed at all with the Ipod's bass response but yes, you're right, those add-on speakers look like cheap Chinese crap. If those were Sony drivers in there I'd be slightly interested.
Even sony's drivers generally suck. At least I've never heard a pair I would consider worth listening too...
Just what I always wanted: to have to listen to your shitty music through some tinny little plastic speakers!
here's a wild idea: buy nice headphones and actually enjoy your music the way it was meant to sound...without tormenting everyone else with your emo pop crap.
(not you specifically, cubing. "You" as in anyone who would use something like this.)
I love hearing about each new ipod accessory. Thanks engadget!
This would NEVER have made the site if it were for the Zune, or any non-Apple product.
LOL.
like we did back in 1985
Yeah right you were 5. I did it but I'm 10 years older than you and yes it was COOL AS F*CK! hell in the 90's I had the same Ghetto Blaster that Wil Smith had on Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Remember that kick ass box. Dual high speed tape decks, Fm Radio. Took 6 D cell batteries ( they make them anymore??) Ahh those were the days when a wifi was a high five when saying good bye...
I want to win your next contest...... 4 years guys, 4 long years... . . . ...
LOL: Back to the era of the transistor radio of the 60s
The more things change....
