hey can you tell me more about T-Mobile's t-zone? i understand after i unlock it i need to install a t-zone hack as well? so after all that, will i be using t-zone wherever i want? or just some hotspot or something? im getting mine on Monday!!!

first thing to do is download firware restore of 1.1.4. DO NOT UPGRADE. use the restore, which completely wipes and reloads. this prevents any conflicts from developing with ziphone.
next, download ziphone softare.
to restore the iphone, you hold the home button while powering the unit on and pluggin into your comp. when itunes starts, click shift and restore. this will prompt a file open box. find where you downloaded 1.1.4 and restore.
once restored to 1.1.4, run ziphone and click the "do it all" button. this unlocks the phone and jailbreaks it.
after that, get your t-mo sim and pop it in. you then go to the settings button in the iphone and go to network, then edge. you have to set the proxy server for t-mo. i'm still on the general inet plan so it was imply a matter of typing in "wap.voicestream.com".
the whole process took me less than 10 minutes.
i'm still trying to decide if i switch to unlimited t-zones, as i may keep my blackberry pearl and iphone, in which case i'll keep the unlimited t-zones plan.

you don't add anything to the username and password. have you just signed up for the inet plan? if so it might take a bit of time to start working.

but 2 quick questions-
1. what firmware is the phone running, is it 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 or other?
2. those of you that allready have this unlocked and running on T-Mobile, what steps did you take to unlock & jailbreak the phone and update the FW to 1.1.4
The firmwares are random... they're based on returns.
Mine came with 1.0.1. Another guy at the office got 1.1.1 and another got 1.1.2.
And it was easy as pie to get working on T-Mo. Download Ziphone, boot the phone into recovery mode, start up iTunes, and do a restore. Once phone is restored, keep iTunes running and run the Ziphone hack. It's literally 1-click now.

I wish I had bought one. Was looking at an iPod touch and 8GB costs $249. I am patiently waiting for a 3G iPhone but $249 is a good deal. Maybe they'll offer them again when they get a new wave of returns.
how do i use my tmobile internet with the iphone? i have the 14.99 unlimited text and data plan how does this work with the iphone what do i install? i just got mine in today and unlocked it.

the total internet plan on tmobile is 39.99...thats way to expensive where are you guys seeing 19.99 and what is it called exactly?

so this will work for my iphone right? how would i go about setting it up? what is VPN? do you know what i would have to input?
I talked with a guy who has an unlocked version of the phone. He has TMobile service and the 19.99 plan, and he said it works great. Every feature works on the iphone except the visual voicemail or email, whatever it is.
the guy that you talked to right does everything work outside of wifi? like the tmobile internet works anywhere outside of wifi? and how fast is it? i just ordered that 19.99 plan so ill have to wait and try it out for myself. did he have to input anything in any settings or it worked automatically?
Outside of wifi, you will be using the tmobile edge network. it's not lightening fast, but it's still pretty decent. if you can't get the internet to work, you man need to call your service provider so they can fill in the missing info for you.

I got this plan The 19.99 plan: The BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on includes unlimited BlackBerry Web Client e-mail and Web browsing. and it worked internet isnt as slow as i thought it would be but its still kinda slow lol. since i have this plan will i be able to use unlimited text with it? because i have the unlimited text plan for 14.99 would i be able to get the same using the 19.99 plan and drop the 14.99 unlimited text? anyone have any idea about that?
I'm calling ATT to cancel my order. I've called them a total of 4 times since originally putting in my order at Noon on the Tuesday they were on sale. They've had to reprocess my order three times for various reasons and still can't get it any farther than that. At this point I just don't want my credit card to be charged.
I think i'll just ride out my Verizon plan until August and hope we have 3G by then. There needs to be a really good refurb/price drop between now and then coupled with either 3G not being out, or the 3G-capable phone being outrageously priced to get me to break my contract now.
