PS3 firmware 2.20 bringing BD-Live interactive Blu-ray this month
The Blu-ray 2.0 spec (or BD-Live) is just days from launch. Sony just announced that the next PlayStation3 firmware updated -- v2.20 -- will add the new interactive features to your PS3. As such, PS3 owners should expect downloadable video content, ringtones, interactive movie-based games, and the always intriguing "more" when the software is released in "late March." In other words, in the next 11 days. The update will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP. The rest of the new features after the break. -- "Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc
and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed.(*1)
-- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP
to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
-- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly
linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's
view speed will be improved.
-- DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.
-- "Mosquito Noise Reduction" will be added as an AV setting in the
control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback.(*2)
*1 BD-J format disc is not supported.
*2 BD discs recorded with BDMV format are not supported.

Sounds great, can't wait for BD Live!
speaking of which... anyone know any titles that support BD live or anywhere i can get a list
The first BD Live titles (War and Saw IV) were released by Lionsgate in January 2008, despite the fact that no players existed to play the web-enhanced content.
I hope that BD live is better than the live content with HD DVD. That stuff wasn't all that intersting. Maybe now they will start putting in some really compelling content.
I doubt it Mutant. It's just wallpapers and ringtones and trailers for a movie you just bought and watched on Blu-Ray! A few will have some very basic games etc.. It's nothing special imo but still a nice addition and time-waster..
God I want in-game XMB.
So does everybody else, but saying that over and over does not speed up them releasing it. They've already announced it, so you just have to wait til summer for it.
not everyone wants it, I know lots of people who couldn't give a rats bottom about it myself included =)
Sure. In-game XMB would be nice. I don't know what would be the use of it, but it would look nice.
@Franssu
It would be REALLY useful for:
- sending/reading/responding to messages you receive while you're playing a game.
- playing music while playing a game.
- changing your PSN status message while playing a game.
- changing system settings (like headset mic level) while playing a game.
- checking the status of or initiating a PS Store download while playing a game.
All of those things right now require that you quit the game you're playing, with the exception of playing music, which can't be done while playing a game period unless it's supported by the game.
@madgunde:
If you NEED these features right away go pick up an Xbox 360.
Also, in general; doesn't the PS3 have built-in WiFi? Why can't the PSP connect to the PS3 via WiFi instead of through a USB cable?
I don't own either, just speculating..
Yeah notice how they're adding all these great features that we would love, but they are still missing the most important and demanded one of all.
I WANT AN IN-GAME XMB MENU ASAP!
i need it. it is very good
if it can be sold to me
I thougt these new BR wouldn't be available on "old" devices?
You're right, new BD profiles are not available in old devices...
Except the PS3.
Its all about artificially inflating PS3 sales numbers to beat the 360 and Wii. I own a PS3 and know other that do as well but don't own a single game. For me its a future proof Blu-ray player at a reasonable price compared to other players. Its also a great media device.
A sale is a sale...
Besides, if that is happening, PS3's attach rate for core gamers (being those who have bought the system for gaming vice BD watching) must be through the roof!
Either way, you can't spin it in an anti-Sony way. At the end of the day, a sale is a sale.
Exactly. Sony makes plenty of money from blu-ray sales, PS3s are much cheaper to produce now, and Sony's also building future markets for Home, downloadable shows and movies and music, etc. So the most PS3s out there the better, even if they are bought by people who insist on not taking advantage of any of the awesome PS3 games. Not even the cheap downloadable ones? That's a shame, but ok.
mastroka!
Matroska! actually.
yeah. for some reason, everytime i pronounce it in my head, it just comes out that way. i can't help it. crap on a stick.
Just sweet. the PSP is getting more and more important/usefull with the PS3
Now if only they could get remote play working for everyone!
You know what, I think I'll wait for the next iteration of the PS3. Cheaper, more games to play, more "stable" (I mean, not so much in need of firmware upgrades), slimmer and maybe with a better design (that is one that I like more, to avoid starting flames).
What are you talking about?
You realize that those thin PS3 mockups are bunk, right? The key to knowing that a console prototype is legit is to look at the back where all the connections go.
Also, firmware updates are the way of the future. It's not a bug, but a feature that current PS3s can be improved. I think you will be waiting a very long time before you get one that won't ever need such an update.
To state that the PS3 is unstable or unreliable is ridiculous. It's, by far, the most reliable console of the Wii, PS2, or 360. It doesn't break its own laser like the Nintendo, doesn't burn itself up like the 360, and isn't cheap and shoddy like the original PS2s (nor does it cook itself like the initial thin PS2s).
More games to play is certainly something PS3 owners have to wait for, but it's got a decent library that is highly underrated. It's got one of the finest motion controlled games yet made in High Velocity, a few awesome FPSs including one with Mouse and WASD support, it's got Eyecreate, which is simply a ton of creative fun that goes beyond couch potato, and it's got a few half assed motion control games. Not to mention some of the best 360 games like Portal, Call of Duty, and Oblivion.
Is the PS3 library the best? Not at all, the 360 is clearly better right now. But it's plenty of fun for those who are not stubbornly insisting on finding fault.
Should you wait to buy a PS3? Hell yes you should, because there is that MGS4 bundle coming. But some of your reasons are not great, my friend.
This blu-ray update is really bullshit marketing. Every blu-ray player made can play every blu-ray movie, and those who need the ringtones and dumb extra menu crap are a severe minority. Most folks just want their movies (granted, the PSP download feature is ridiculously awesome).
Whoa, whoa, calm down.
I didn't say the PS3 is **it. In fact, I actually said I will wait for the next version and probably buy it. So why the heated reaction?
And what are YOU talking about? Which mockups?
If you haven't noticed, the "latest" trend is first version fat, second version slim: the PS2, the PSP, the Nintendo DS. To me, the PS3 is still too bulky and it has a design I don't like (doesn't mean everyone must like what I like and vice-versa).
No one said the PS3 was unreliable, and I perfectly understand what a firmware update is. Fact is, Blu-ray is still evolving, and the PS3 is, too. There will be firmware updates in the future, but not so many as there are now; that's what I meant by "stable", and the reason why it was enclosed in double quotes.
You know, this really wasn't a comment that needed a reply. I simply stated what I intend to do. If you think the PS3 game library is enough or underrated, fine. I'm eagerly waiting for LittleBigPlanet, that may be a deciding factor. But you wanting to tell me when to buy a PS3, because of this and that - this IS ridiculous.

Oh well. Part of your comment crept in. Don't know how that happened. Must be because I'm using a mockup PS3 to reply.
Just kidding, you know.
"There will be firmware updates in the future, but not so many as there are now; that's what I meant by "stable", and the reason why it was enclosed in double quotes."
But what's so hard about installing a firmware update with more features? I turn on the playstation, it says system update ready, downloads, and installs in about 10 minutes.
Oh and the update last week (for online issues) was the first in almost 3 months (to my knowledge) since the last one. These aren't weekly updates, but full updates that add features that make me feel like my purchase is worth the price, not only with games, but ways to expand it beyond a gaming system.
Go easy on giuliop! What he said makes perfect sense and I'm inclined to agree. The PS3 is too big and uses too much power, so I'll wait. And I also don't want to wait 10 minutes while my games console tells ME what IT wants to do!
The fact that they keep releasing new versions of the BR specification itself is hardly a mark of stability, so yes, I'll wait too until they have decided what Blu Ray actually is (remember the early adopters who got shafted when the spec changed?).
And while we're on the topic... has anyone else thought that maybe all this network based stuff that could just as easily be on the disc is not for the benefit of the customer, but to give some interesting market research to the studios, as well as being a new way to make money out of you? Like the text in competitions you find on sweets are just so the company knows when you're eating them. And another thing, how in gods name is ringtone downloads a selling point?
Wow, that feels better.
I agree with giuliop as well. I want to purchase a PS3 and feel the $399 price point is perfectly reasonable for what it is. I just don't have the room for it. And s/he (all due respect, not reading close enough to identify gender) is right, the trend IS to make the second generation smaller. A PS3 the size of the first gen of the PS2 would sit much better with me and my av rack.
Brillant but wheres dts-hd decoding?????
Not ready yet?? Seriously, why do Americans always want everything now, what is it with them.
I like my products fully baked, when they are ready, not the half finished stuff other manufacturers seem to release.. (you KNOW who I mean...)
Frikkin HOME already? what the hell... how long is this thing going to be in development. Also why dont these people at Sony add internet radio to the ps3? I mean they added it to the psp and thats all nice and dandy for those with a psp and the portable aspect of it but Internet radio would be wicked! They have the potential to bury the Xbox yet they sit and twiddle their thumbs trying to plug holes that hackers find but seriously sony step up the awe factor already... How about a youtube application like the iphone that will hook you up to youtube directly instead of us using that slow (frikkin slooooooooow) ass internet browser. And seriously how much faster can that get? why dont u port firefox to your system so we can use some serious functionality hell I know people who would buy a ps3 just for that...grrr
Are there any Bly-Ray discs with BD-Live out yet?
From playstation blog.
"On April 8th Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release The 6th Day and Walk Hard on Blu-ray; these titles will be among the first to take advantage of BD-Live. With this update, the PLAYSTATION 3 becomes the first Blu-ray player on the market with BD-Live functionality."
wow this is big news!
2GB Limit removed! that is just awesome
No more worrying about playing divx/HD videos over 2GB
kudos to Sony, this is the year of teh Sony! Been great since the holidays, keep em comin
Mosquito Noise Reduction - Lol. Look out for malaria guys!!
While you're at it (Sony), why not add the subtitle support for Divx movies?? Playback of DTS Audio would also be much appriciated... Other than that, keep them updates coming :-)
Just make the DivX movies actually PLAY. The compatibility level is pretty low, over half of what I have cannot be played on PS3 at all. Xbox360 is a lot better compatibility wise.
i could go for more wmv support.
all of the videos i have that are wmv play perfectly except for the complete lack of audio.
have you tried many XviD videos?
BD-Live 2.0 is cool, but where is the ability to decode or send DTS Master? If the Ps3 was really capable of it why isn't it included in this update? I'm mean it can't be that hard to fix if it's done by the cell.
Killer, great audio support is something the PS3 just isn't going to have. Sony has this one thing to differentiate the expensive stand alone players as a theater centerpiece. The PS3 must be accompanied by a toslink accepting audio system to get the great sound you want decoded. While the PS3 might be technically capable (and I have my doubts that they all are), Sony has clearly made a decision that may have been behind doors with LG, Samsung, and others.
And if you aren't playing your PS3 games with surround sound on a nice audio system, you should seriously consider the upgrade. Games are so much better in surround sound.
It's been confirmed by a Blu-ray insider. Its coming, not in the next update but possibly the one after that.
The reason being they have to wait until other standalones are able to do the same things as the PS3. They dont want to piss off the other CE manufacturers.
Especially since they are selling this device at a loss and undercutting their "competition" i.e. thier customers.
Support for .MOV, MPEG4-SP, and the non-PSP compliant version of the MP4 container please!
Mark, this is EXACTLY why he is complaining... without DTS-HD decoding, the product as a Blu-ray player IS half-baked. You see? We all like our products fully functional when we PURCHASE them, and if not... then we expect the rectification sooner rather than later.
is anyone else in love with the girl from the american apparel advert at the top of this article?
no. its just you. the girl does not show up for me.
bummer.
she's hot.
adblock FTW
im in love with the express girl...
www.expressfashion.com
so engadget now includes a DIGG button?
Where have you been?
Sony how about an in game media bar or even if it only has music settings and friends so u could tweak something, play your music over the games audio(like the xbox. HINT HINT SONY!) or check their messages without leaving the goddamned game!!!!
Yeah, because Sony comes to Engadget to get ideas for their future updates. I think you need to try a different method for expressing your ideas.
Awesome update! Also available according to PS Blog:
- The Internet browser now displays some web pages faster. In addition [Save Target] has been added as an option under file. This option lets you save a file that is linked to a web page to your PS3 hard drive or storage media.
- The ability to copy PS3 Music and Photo playlists to a PSP system. We introduced the ability to create Music and Photo playlists on the PS3 in firmware update v2.0. Now you can easily export your playlists to your PSP.
Looks like 4.00 for the PSP is coming!
i hate all these posts about, "when are they gonna do this, when are they gonna add that?"
that aside, when are they going to add skype? that would be nice.
was wondering if we were still going to be able to copy movies to the psp to or was that just a rumor
Hopefully this will make up for that lame 2.00 update from a few days ago.
That update was far from lame. I don't understand all the trolling here. That really solved a lot of online problems. Reliability is among the most important aspects of consumer electronics.
Anything Sony can do to get their online service working better is badly needed.
I knew the profile 2.0 was coming. That's nice. But the biggest thing for me is that the player will remember where the movie is when you stop it or even take the disc out. I've been wanting that since I got the PS3. Does that make me weird?
add DTS-HD and .mkv file playback support already sony!
Sadly, the current PS3 chipset can't handle DTS-HD MA. Even if it did, it would be a converted PCM stream. That's the way PS3 handles Dolby TrueHD now and the reason why a 6.9Mb TrueHD track sounds worse than a 640kb DD track. I hope they release a new PS3 with an updated chipset to handle the new audio formats. The PS3 is a sadly crippled Blu-ray player without it.
JET
@Jet
Decoding TrueHD to LPCM is like decoding a Zip file. It is lossless compression. Discs authored in advanced mode require the decoding be done in the player so bitstream output will be absolutely useless going forward. Look at every HD-DVD. Every one of them is authored in advanced mode and required the decoding of the HD audio formats be done in the player. If the TrueHD decoded to PCM over HDMI sounds worse than a 640k DD stream, there is something wrong with your setup.
"Even if it did, it would be a converted PCM stream. That's the way PS3 handles Dolby TrueHD now and the reason why a 6.9Mb TrueHD track sounds worse than a 640kb DD track."
Jet... thank you for that hilarious post!
You really need to do some reading up before you start spouting this drivel. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA are both completely lossless... when you decode them you get a PCM stream. The _exact_ same PCM stream that went in. Literally the same 1's and 0's. It doesn't get any better than that (well, there are different bitrates of PCM... but anyway).
As the other guy mentioned... if your setup sounds inferior when being sent six streams of decoded PCM over HDMI (for 5.1) than it does when being sent a 640kbps DD bitstream... then you have something seriously wrong with your setup. Mostly likely it's _your_ receiver that is doing something wacked out.
Now that I think of it... you are sending the audio over HDMI right? You do know that that's the only way to get the raw digital PCM (or HD Audio bitsream if you were using something other than a PS3) to your receiver right? If you are trying to send DD-TrueHD over optical... that could be your problem. I don't know what the PS3 does in that case (I haven't tried)... I know that my HD-DVD player will do some sort of internal "down-sampling" to DTS (of all things!) and bitstream that over optical. If the PS3 is doing something similar (and doing it poorly) then that could account for what you are hearing.
Anyway... do some reading. PCM = DD-TrueHD = DTS-MA > DD-Plus > 640kbps DD > DTS-ES > DTS > DD if everything is properly configured (and if you have good enough equipment for it to make a difference!).
Friedmud
The PS3 has it all:
Built-in Blu-ray player with, soon to come, BD Profile 2.0!
God of War 3 on the Horizon!
Built-in WiFi!
But...still no in-game XMB.
Also, "'Resume play' will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed.(*1)": doesn't nearly all BD movies have BD-J enabled? So this would be limited to quite a few discs. Very useless, if it doesn't support BD-J.
No, I suspect it means during the BD-J special features. It'd be a worthless feature if you couldn't do that on your movies.
2.20 is apparently out in the wild. Someone who got theirs back from a warranty repair has 2.20 on their system.

Ringtones?? What am I missing?
Does it also add IR support so that I can control it with my Harmony 880 like everything else in my house?
Just buy one of these: http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-Blu-Wave-Remote/dp/B000R5H7KE
I got mine for $15 at Gamestop... works great with Harmonys (Just look under "DVD Playing Game Consoles" and it is listed in there).

Can i get some MKV format support please ?
howza bout a friggin flash update so i can watch me some hulu!

JET"
The PS3 should be more than capable of decoding DTS HD MA with no problem. They just need to get it figured out. The processor in the PS3 is more powerful than the processor in any other Blu Ray player, so why couldn't it?
You also have the rest of your facts messed up man, plain and simple. The only way that True HD and Uncompressed PCM will sound worse than Dobly Digital is if you don't have the proper set-up and then it's still debatable. The PS3 sends the audio out in a Linear PCM stream, meaning it is completely decoded when it is sent to the receiver. If your receiver supports LPCM through HDMI then the receiver simply sends the sounds to the speakers, all the decoding of the audio is done in the PS3. This is the same result as a receiver decoding the audio and outputting the sound.
The issue is with Bitstream vs LPCM conversion. The chipset in the PS3 cannot bitstream either high-end audio format. It has to transcode to PCM. The transcoded stream sounds much worse than the original. The problem is that the BD chipset used in the PS3 is too old. There are newer versions of the same chips that support bitstreaming of TrueHD and DTS-HD. Unless PS3 upgrades to those, PS3 will not truly support either format.
Need proof? Throw in any BR disk with both a TrueHD and a DD soundtrack. Switch to Linear PCM and play the TrueHD track. Now switch to Bitstream and play the DD track. Regardless of how much higher the bitrate of the TrueHD track is, it will sound significantly inferior to the DD track.
If companies simply provided PCM tracks on the disks, this wouldn't be an issue. Uncompressed PCM tracks played through PS3 sound great.
JET
Why does it have to be TRANSCODED to PCM if it can be DECODED to PCM? Transcoding doesn't really apply here since PCM is a RAW data format, not a codec (unless you're starting from a DSD which uses different approach to D/A and A/D conversion, let's not go there). There is no loss of quality in decoding a codec that originated from a PCM recording back to PCM - at least as long as you don't take that raw decoded data and further process it and for example reduce the number of bits and/or sampling rate. I have no reason to think that with all that processing power PS3 would not be able to stream all 5 or 7 channels of uncompressed PCM to the receiver, in full 24/96 or whatever it is, unless there is some kind of issue in the HDMI hardware and it cannot handle the amount of data thrown its way. That should not happen since PS3 claims to be HDMI 1.3 device (and Sony claimed the PS3 launch delay was in part due to waiting for HDMI 1.3). Because otherwise, we have false advertising claims on our hands and I'm sure they'll be grilled to ashes were that to happen.
Hai guys anyone wanted to come over and watched HD-DVD on my 360!!1 anyonE?
Agreed if they are using the damn thing to simulate black holes, cure cancer and hack complex password algorithms I'm sure they can figure out some chintsy audio codec
Great adding more features no one cares about, and neglecting in-game XMB and playlists.
This is a f#$king game console, right?
Any chance of stereo bluetooth getting some time soon?
If your listening Sony, heres a cheap one - just repackage it in a standard box with shiny gold feet. Charge $50 buck more for it - adults won't feel embarrassed and have to hide in a cabinet.
Actually considering doing the mod myself to make the wife happy.
While you're at it please include Windows Vista and a kitchen sink in your next update. Thanks. Oh and the ability to emulate and play Wii games! Thanks.
just another reason why the PS3 reigns supreme
All I know is that I'm absolutely getting a PS3 in the next couple weeks because of this:
http://us.playstation.com/granturismo/media.asp?m_section=screenshots
April 14th!
Oh, and Ratchet and Clank Future.
JET,
You still did not get it, like someone else said earlier, ge your facts straight before posting.
Any HD audio stream must be decoded to PCM before playback. Period. That includes DTS-HD MA and DolbyTrue HD. The issue that you try to dramatise here is basical a question of where this decoding takes place.
PS3 decodes high rez audio internally and sends it out as an LPCM stream over HDMI, so then your receiver does not have to decode this stream, and simply pass it to the output/amplifier stage.
If PS3 were to bitstream the high rez audio, these streams would still be decoded to PCM, but in the receiver. Which means you have to have a receiver that is capable of decoding these HD audio stream. Other than that there is really no difference. So, let's stop all this drama queen whining aout PS3 lacking ability to bitstream - who cares!!! You are still getting the same DTS-HDMA or Dolby True HD as the next guy.
What, someone's buying a PS3 because of a Gran Turismo demo you have to pay for ?! By all means buy a PS3 for Blu-Ray, but if you want a racing game with decent AI where cars can actually be damaged during racing then save some money and buy a 360 with Forza Motorsport 2....
:-)
The GT 5 Prologue Smashes ANY other racing game..........PERIOD.........
Aggie... No. It doesn't. Forza 2 is already a better game all around with the customization and the fact that there is damage.
I hope they add a feature to shut down the ps3 from the remote or controller. Maybe holding down the PS button for 5 seconds just like holding down the power button on the console. It's a little bit frustrating to bump the remote control and the ps3 turns on but my TV is off. To turn it off I usually try and shut down the ps3 by having memorized the key sequence to go through the menus.
you can already do this with the "PS" button.......how hard is it to hit that button and go down to "Turn off System"??
I didn't quite make myself clear. I know how to turn off the PS3 from the PS button. But when the TV is already off then I have to turn the tv to see what I'm doing. The bluetooth remote is pretty sensitive and the ps3 easily turns on, especially when my young son finds it. Usually instead of turning the tv on I just hold the PS button and then push on the enter button a couple times and the PS3 shuts off. It would be nice if they just programmed the remote to have a graceful shutdown option without the need to use a menu on the tv.
"how hard is it to hit that button and go down to "Turn off System"??"
Not that hard. But I'll continue to favor convenience over inconvenience.
I love how far the PS3 has come. People have badmouthed this system since it was released but now it's really starting to make sense. I haven't bought one yet, but I will definitely buy one in the near future.
Hmm, I love my PS3. Trying to figure out how to play my DVD backups (VOB file sets on it) to make it a true media streamer. Right now I am using my TVIX 5100 HD to do the job. What the PS3 needs to be a true media hub is the following:
Passive entertainment:
- Video: Netflix movie streaming in at least 720p over broadband
- Video: Multiple file VOB stream over CAT5 or N wireless from media server PC
- Video: Serve as a streamer from PC to PSP immediately, no intermediate download
- Video: Attach PVR with terrestial broadcast like the PlayTV in Europe, and probably even add a Cable_Card ready option so I can kick Comcast PVR to the curb.
- Video: Support AVC-HD, MKV, and virtually any other codec or container out there, why not?
- Audio: Support TrueHD and DTS-HD home theatre sound for 7.1 channel surround sound over HDMI or even DVI/TOSLINK (bandwith problems?).
-Audio: Support playlists made on media PC on the PS3, or allow for your own playlist creator on PS3.
- Audio: Support DVD-Audio and music in surround sound.
- Support internet audio streaming from Shoutcast and website streaming
- Communications: XMB in game
- Communications: Chat while in game to multiple players.
- Communications: Use Playstation Eye to video conference while in game if desired
- Communication: Skype internet support
- Interactivity: use the Eye to support motion support, like the wifi infrared sensors.
- Add PS3 Home this decade
- Add more Folding@Home applications to run
- create screen savers for PS3
That's it. I want it all by the end of the year. Thanks.
To play your burnt DVD images on your PS3, simply change the file extension from ".VOB" to ".mpg" or ".mpeg", although i believe ".mpg" is the right one. Happy viewing!
just another reason why ps3 reigns supreme
hoping for more, but this is still great. GOD I WANT AN HDTV!
Nice to see them constantly improving the user experience.
1) My Xbox 360 updates in 30 second including the download. PS3 is 10-15 min.
2) Where is bitstream?
3) Why is BR just getting these features when HD-DVD has had them from the beginning?
Just to let everyone know I own all three consoles and and HD-DVD player. I just think that the PS3 isnt the best way to go. Its just the cheapest. Now I am going to buy on of the new BR blayers that have all the features I want in December.
I think we're asking a little too much of Sony in such a small amount of time. Seems nearly everyone who's been posting here wants 300 different improvements sometime in the next month. We have to remember something. It will never be perfect. That's the whole reason the competition exists. Don't get me wrong. I back Sony (and HAVE backed Sony since I was old enough to have an opinion on such things) completely. Now that I've had a PS3, playing a 360 is an incomprehensibly inferior experience. I say we stop yelling. Calm down. Give them a chance.
I quite personally want:
-In game XMB (with full functionality)
-Streaming video and audio in internet browser (but that's currently being taken care of apparently)
-BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY WITH THE PS2 :( This is so depressing with Sony (apparently) cutting ties with the updates for PS2 compatibility. Snake Eater constantly freezes on me, which depresses me to no end.
-Maybe the ability to folder and SUBfolder music, photos and videos. I'm not even sure this is currently impossible, but archiving your files in a standard, 3-dimensional way would be excellent.
Besides that, I'm just eagerly awaiting the release of some very crucial games. MGS4, LBP, and, of course, a little furhter down the line, Resistance 2: United We Fall.
Doin' great Sony!
hi cool artical.
