On June 12th, 2008 there'll be no place to hide from the release of the gunmetal MGS4 PS3. Well no place except every single country other than japan where the ¥51,800 (about $520) limited edition console will exclusively launch. That wad of Yen nabs the limited edition 40GB console with a Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots software bundle and like-colored DualShock 3 controller. How you like that, Ol' Snake?

Buy a PS3 from a Japanese import store. We have them in NYC in China town.

Good luck finding a site which has the balls to import you a PS3 to Europe, the Lik-Sang incident has everyone shittin' themselves about future lawsuits over importing Sony products to Europe.

as far as it has been reported, there were other issues about the Lik-Sang case that cause Sony to act the way they did

I think that's way hotter than any other image. I'm usually about colour choices that stray from piano black, but this is pretty damn HAWT.

I'll still get the MGS4 PS3 bundle even it has the glossy black unit. However, the smile I'll have going home would be bigger if the gunmetal/steel gray PS3 was in my box.
Well, at least we get 40 extra gigs and BC. Then again, 80 gigs, BC, MGS4, DS3 and a gray, no fingerprints unit would be sweet. Make my summer, Sony !!!

I'm seeing 80gig systems (the one with all the extras that the 40gig doesn't have), plus a game (Motorstorm) for $499 or even less. Why on earth would anyone in their right mind want to pay more for less? Because it says limited edition on it? IMO, that's just as bad as the more expensive green limited edition Halo 3 Xbox360, well, at least this PS3 MGS edition comes with the game, but jeez...

The colour is awesome. But does anyone know how many of these units they plan to release seeing that it is a Ltd Edition?
I'm very interested in buying this, I have the money ready and willing to buy a PS3 very soon for summer. But can we have some info please?? Firstly, is the case still plastic or is it really made of steel metal? Is the voltage on this also 220 to work in the UK? The manual is probably Japanese, that's fine but is the actual menu and everything on the PS3 japanese only or is there english too?? Do normal PAL games from the UK work on this? What about movies? I thought the PS3 isnt region free or is it? Does it come with the Dual Shock 3 controller and MGS4 game? Game is Japanese or PAL?
Will this be worth anything in the future un-opened?
