Pictures galore from ROBO-ONE 13 competition in Japan
The always jam-packed ROBO-ONE competition in Japan was more heated than ever this year, with bi-ped robots tackling others and ripping them limb from limb. Okay, so maybe that's somewhat of a stretch, but you can rest assured some serious throw downs, um, went down. Interestingly enough, we heard that an i-SOBOT competition was also included (infighting, anyone?), and that the Maru family's King Kizer took home the gold. That's all well, fine and good, but we know what you're after -- take a (long) look at the hundreds of photos waiting in the read link below.

will it play battle toads?
I thought monkey island was a 1 player game?
I am a douche
no, no I am the biggest douche to ever walk the earth
Congradulations, you have reached the 5th stage of grief. You have accepted that you are a douche bag and have come to terms with your loss as a human being.
An experiment gone horribly wrong has created a MONSTER bent on killing, killing, killing!
Needless to say, you are a douche...
my comment was supposed to be somewhere elis.
Honestly I would love to see competitions like this here in the USA but unfortunately until we totally restructuralize the who educational system starting from kindergarten to college by first getting rid of moronic lazy income sucking teachers and replace them with teachers who are more enthusiastic about their jobs and have "passion" when teaching their pupils, especially in technical subjects such as math, physics, science (basically make teaching these subjects a little more enjoyable). Second giving expecting parents classes in knowing how to raise their children (or something of that sort resulting in a better upbringing in their children), limiting the Xbox/PC/PS3 time (Wii excluded on purpose for many reasons) and encouraging more family time or time with friends, we just might have more smart people once again in this country.
I would rather see competitions such as this more in this country rather than people being brutal to each other by using guns in schools, school shootings, dog fighting, and kids getting more and more obese at an early age.
Some of you may not either understand my rant, care, or even get it but one thing that gets me is when living in a foreign country for a few years you see kids who are so smart. My closest friend's son (age 8) knows how to put together his OWN MP3 player from raw electronic parts, a micro controller, and a linux PC for programming. He did this for a class project. I thought he was just a unique little Einstein until I found out that most of his classmates already know how to program micro controllers. How many students here can you say know how to do that? Also how many schools here even bother to get that deep into technology, besides the really ultra expensive private schools?
restructuralize ?
and is your friend's kid autistic or something?
I prefer the RoboCup.
Sincerely
Sparky
