Samsung launches 10.2-megapixel L210 point-and-shoot
Now isn't this bugger just as cute as a button? Even if red isn't your hue of choice, Samsung's L210 point-and-shoot comes in black and silver motifs too, and while the 10.2-megapixel sensor is probably a bit much for a shooter this size, we suppose Sammy's just following the trend. Aside from the pocket-friendly design and 3x optical zoom lens, you'll also find a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, red eye correction, optical and digital image stabilization, face detection, an SVGA movie mode and ten whole megabytes of internal storage. Should that fill up on you during your outing (we know, chances are slim), you can slam an SD / SDHC / MMC card in for additional space. Not too terribly shabby for $199.95, yeah?

Is it just me or does the article sound like a description that you would find in a mail order catalogue or ebay!!!
just you
sounds like white bread trying to get homey
Too bad good looks and a bunch of features can't make up for mediocre-to-crappy image quality, which Samsung's cameras have consistently showed throughout the years.
1. When I was shopping point & shoot digital cameras this time last year, I was torn between a great price on a Samsung and the brand new model in Casio's Exilim line. I tried out the Samsung in the store and couldn't believe the poor quality shots I was getting (unfocused shots in a brightly lit Target). I wound up going with the Casio.
2. Manny!!!
Ya, people see "10.2 Megapixels" and they assume they're going to get great "quality"... most people fail to realize that Megapixels are just as important as Lens quality/brightness and image processing... neither of which Samsung is known for.
alright! crappy photos at huge resolutions! worst o' both worlds!
It's amazing how companies like Samsung try to compete with me-too products such as this.
Wouldn't it be cool if Samsung, Olympus, Pentax or some other less-successful camera maker were to offer a pocketable model like this with a really good optical viewfinder, snap-on LCD cover and lugs on both sides, so the camera could be slung over the neck, using a neck strap, and carried safely in a shirt pocket?
Then, make all dials, buttons and markings big enough that even older men with big fingers and less-than-20/20 vision could use the camera without it being a trial. Maybe even offer lighted dials and markings.
The old saying goes, "Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door." The camera manufacturing business seems intent on building lowest-common-denominator, me-too designs, only to see model after model end up on clearance shelves or being sold at distress prices as refurbs.
This isn't a "me too" product. This is a me 142 product. I think the description of this camera sounds like every other camera on the market. Why bother making a new camera just by changing the casing? I know they want to take up more shelf space in stores, but come on.
