HD DVD Promotion Group officially dissolves in a high-res burst of tears
Well, it's no surprise that it was going to happen, but the HD DVD Promotion Group officially dissolved today, leaving behind nothing but this terse message directing us to individual "selling agencies." And so, with literally nothing left of HD DVD, we formally close the sad chapter of consumer electronics history known as the HD Format War, remembering those times when HD DVD rode high, with low prices, more features and less restrictive rights management as its rallying cries, and the rantings of Michael Bay still only the delusional fantasies of a fool. May the resistance live on, and our PS3s always be reminded of a time when their ascension was not guaranteed. Red's dead, baby.

I think the post should have read "Red's Dead Baby, Red's Dead, in pure Pulp Fiction fashion. ;-)

I'll still buy them for my X360 though as they may become quite cheap and have been in select (Yuch, Best Buy) but a movie's a movie. I still like the quality and will be purchasing a few select titles, as the price can't be beat to grab some specials for the old collection you know 9.99 isn't bad at all....at least until and if the X360 release a Blu-Ray external. Which may or may not happen depending on the rumor mill...otherwise I'll personally wait until they fall a bit in price, like in 2012. LOL, Anyone know of a 9.99 each or so website selling various title on the cheap?
Thanks....HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray= the New Beta Max standard LOL

Pour one out for my red homies...
I went to my local JB-HIFI in Australia yesterday to find all the blu-ray movies are now $35-45, we used to pay around $20 with the 3 for the price of 2 deals. Bring back competition I say. Oh and then I thought since I was heading to the US I could pick up some movies... no thats right Blu-Ray has regions like it was 1991 again. Guess Sony need to make some money to pay for the studios they bought off... Can't wait for digital downloads.
