Meta,
Painting the town magenta

P.S. -In a related side note, our old pals at Phone Scoop pinged us earlier this morning to let us know they've gone magenta for the day in an act of solidarity. Much love, Phone Scoop! Oh, and now so did Phone Arena, Fitch, and GearBits! Also, myself and some other eds are in on the action.

What a very professional move...
Take a hike!
Take a long walk on a short pier
Funny how Tom G. just showed up yesterday and his first comments were defending T-Mobile...
Funny Indeed...
Welcome to the internet. Now get the fuck off it.
Tom,
I've tried so hard to come up with a witty response that would enable me to effectively express my feelings, while also making the other readers laugh. Words have failed me though. So, as one great man so eloquently put it:
Shove it up your ass.
Yeah, click on his name, all of his comments are saying "Tmobile roxx1111 no i is not from hedquartars tring to dfend mi cumpuny111"
As someone else said: "Welcome to the internet. Now get the fuck off it."
Why don't you make like a leaf, and get outta here?
your engadge t-mobile just made my day. Heres hoping that you're still here tomorrow though!
Wow, this is hilarious (like, off the charts hilarious) let's just hope Deutsche Telekom's legal department thinks so too. I don't know what I would do if big E were to disappear (*shudder* not even in my darkest hour will I consult Gizmodo).
That is the best thing I've seen all day. Way to stick it to the man, engadget!
Damn Engadget your a great role model. Seriously. This is what your suppose to do when someone tries to bully you, stand your ground and pissed them the HELL off..=D
YAY!!!
woo engadget! love the magenta - maybe keep it on board for the whole month, or beyond!
hell yes i approve!!!
At first I was all like "wtfpink?" Now that I've seen this story, I somehow love Engadget even more than I already did.
Did someone send a link to those lawyers at DT?
Mine to, but I'm taking bets that in about a month or two you will see T-mobile ads here and this will have all been "Rhine water under the bridge"...
Whoops, there's one. That was quick ;^)...
Hell ya! Show them kraut bastards what your made of, Engadget!
Wow, a lot of highest ranked again.
I smell April Fools. The original letter was believeable enough, but this story is beginning to stink.
I thought it was funny that when I loaded the engadget, t-mobile was being advertised in both boxes at the top. :-)

This is so funny I have to break my own rule and say, "And now lets put a happy little logo on top of this magenta here..."
PWNED! :D
well it is now....
http://T-Mobile.justgotowned.com
the tables have turned.
ENGADGET FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Engadget rocks so hard.
To T-Mobile...
I think The Notorious B.I.G (RIP) said it best...
"Mo' Money, Mo' Problems"
:)
Your chief editor is so awesome because this story got approved! BTW how does your chief editor looks like?
Don't mess with the force known as Engadget! Go!
I definite will sign up for some EngadgeT Mobile!
I definite will sign up for some EngadgeT Mobile!
I'm so glad engadget. You made my day and also put a good statement in tmo's face. Boy, am I glad.
almost as good as Paintin' the Town Brown by Ween
It's amazing how the little guy can fight back when they've got their very own giant standing behind them. AOL/Time Warner vs DT? That would be one for the ages.
Unfortunately that's the thing that makes me think there's a decent chance you've all just been April Fooled. (That and a seeming lack of April Fools pranks from a site notorious for them.)
FIGHT THE POWER
This will go down in history books. Keep it up Engadget, you rock!
I give it 24 hours before Katherine Zeta Jones shows up on your doorstep to kick some serious Engadget ass...LOL!!! Remember when she was in that movie with Sean Conary??? I bet she can really get down like that! Keep rockin it hard Engadegt, I mean how can you say you have rights to a color. The next thing you know AT&T will follow suit and send a cease and desist order to god over the sky being blue!! Sheesh how lame...I could think of other ways T-mobile could spend thier cash...say rolling out 3g in the states?? Just my 2 cents :D
This has to be one of the greatest ideas ever.
I think credit should be given to Kamokazi for giving you guys the idea to redesign your logo.

@ Henry
How can you be using firefox and not be using adblock>
Nick, I had the idea last week when we got the letter, actually. Great minds...
"Oh boy, what kind of shananigans has engadget gotten themselves into now?"
eh, ryan? Can I email DT with a link to engadget saying theres a big suprise waiting for them? :-)
Deutsche.
Pronounced douche.
I agree with "Draaaainage!", i would never, ever consult Gizmodo for tech news, rumors, or p/reviews. Lets keep fighting La Revolucion against T-Mob, Engadgeteers(Pronoun for more than 1 Engadgeter).
you know your arguing about the most ugly color out there?
I'm so glad you guys are doing this. I can't tell you how mad I got the first time I saw you post about t-mobile trying to claim magenta as their own. Then for them to turn around and literally try to bully you into changing your logo!?!?! Who the ____ do these __________ think they are?!?!!? KEEP IT UP! You don't _OWN_ magenta, jackasses!
*chuckles*
You just made my day
Couldn't have said it better myself, I laughed out loud when I read the entry, headed over to Engadget mobile and say the new banner. Absolutely priceless, T-Mobile just got PAWNED.
Engadget: 2
T-Mobile: 0
