I've added a mirror at http://www.ipwner.net also for those who can't download from the current server. :)
Can I upgrade from 1.11 to 1.14 using this tool?
The instructions say only 1.13 and 1.14 are upgradeable. How do I ake the shift to any of those two firmwares?
Alas, I still can't use my USIM on the iPhone.. thus preventing me from buying one
Great! Now we should be well placed to ultimately run Android on the iPhone! :)
yay ...
No patch available
Failed to update patch AppleImage2NORAccess!
NOR flashing failed!
don't use 1.1.3, update to 1.1.4 first, then it rocks.
if i am jailbroken on 1.1.4 3.9 bl (locked on att), will all of my 7 pages of apps be intact?
why would you want to use it if this is the case??
i would want to upgrade to the 2.0 beta.
okay... i have "iPhone1,1_2.0_5A225c_Restore.ipsw and pwnage doesnt recognize it.... ive read several sites saying this version should be supported... help please
I wouldnt touch this, I just did and its bricked my iphone... screen black and dead....
Dont know what im going to do now!
I am getting the same error message when trying to upgrade from a pwned 1.1.4.
The comments seem to indicate this should work for Ipod Touch as well but it does not wakeup as set the iPod in recovery mode... Ah well I was hoping to get the 2.0 OS on the Touch... Apples SDK seems worthless if you're wanting to develop for an iPod Touch... unless I'm missing something -- which is entirely possible
When i download the 1.1.4 ipsw it puts it in a folder and i cant get the the firmware icon that looks like a box... HELP please
All you have to do is restore your iphone and upgrade to 1.1.4, download http://www.ziphone.org/ unzip the file to your desktop and run the program. Click "do it all" and your good to go.
I'd wait till someone releases a step by step instruction guide before using the PWNAGE tool.
When i download the 1.1.4 from apple it gives it to me in a folder not in the form that i see needed to use w/ ipwenr... help please...
the same thing happened to my iphone... i tryed everything... after it was sitting on the dock for the longest time, it said in itunes it was trying to connect but the sim card was locked. i actually just went to the local apple store and told them the screen was dead and they tried everything, couldn't fix it and i got a new one... i was willing to take the chance to go no support just to get them to fix the screen issue... but like i said, not luck and replaced... hope this helps...
Yay. Now all I need to do is get an iPhone
Can someone please explain this to noobs like and to people who want an iphone? For example, I want to buy an iphone but dont want to sign up with at&t. I know there are ways to unlock your phone, but it looks complicated and i want to be to upgrade firmwares without the iphone locking again. So saying all this, can this program erase my fears and finally convinces me to buy an iphone?
I have hacked an original iPhone (the first very version, now i am using T-Mobile sim card), and i have not update to any other new firmware. How would i be able to get 2.0 on my phone, and using this wonderfully evil tool??
must.... wait.. for... iPhone 3G... (or Xperia X1, HTC Dream, Samsung F490, etc...)
PS: Damn Tmobile and their worthless phone selection...
Works great! I was hesitant to do it - I had an unlocked 1.0.2 on T-Mobile and was afraid it wouldn't work and I'd have lost the phone functionality, but everything turned out OK.
Watch the video, read the instructions, it's very straight forward. Here is also a great step by step tutorial:

One thing: for some reason for the restore through iTunes step (with the custom IPSW), I was unable to browse to select for one. So all I did was remove the Apple IPSW from /Library/iTunes/Restore (I forget the path name, but it's obvious once you get into the iTunes folder) and replace it with the custom IPSW, and voila, done.
are hacking into these illegal? or does it depend on what you use it for?
Taylor, your Tilt is defective. I guess moral of the story is "Dont buy refurbished"
I have it as $59 a phone, as a family plan... Wish I had a touch to hack, too. My company won't let me have a hacked/jailbroken iPhone. :(
James, I'm in UK too and I had an earlier model iPhone unlocked and was using it "as was" for ages for fear of losing the unlocked status because I'd been using different SIMs in my iPhone all over the world... so I know and understand your apprehensions. I haven't tried Pwnage yet but the simple effortless solution I found was: Download ZiPhone (http://download.ziphone.org/). Put YOUR SIM (one you use unlocked, not an original O2 SIM) in your iPhone if it isn't already. Connect your iPhone to iTunes, put it into recovery mode, wait till iTunes finds it and recognises recovery mode; Restore to latest version (takes several minutes). Wait with iPhone connected for iTunes to tell you it has an unrecognised SIM in it then quit iTiunes and run ZiPhone (. In a few minutes the sense of relief is unbelievable when you see your carrier (t-Mobile or Orange or whatever) come up on top left of screen! Re-connect to iTunes and run your backups etc and see in iTunes that your phone num,ber is there and you're running 1.1.4!! Honestly it's a breeze.
I think these guys have done fantastic work, well done. But the whole "PWN" slogan 'n stuff sounds a little gay.
Where can I download the ipsw package for 2.0?? Can anyone give me a link to it? I really want to check it out. Many thanks.
