Wareham, Massachusetts gets Verizon's FiOS TV
For TV junkies residing just north of the Cape Cod region, there's a decent chance you'll have one more option when it comes to receiving your programming. Right now, residents of Wareham, Massachusetts can phone up Verizon and see if their domicile is one of the approximately 10,000 more that have access to its FiOS TV service. With this addition, Verizon has covered portions of 66 communities in the Bay State, and while specifics are sorely absent, it does note that negotiations are already underway with several other locales in the state.

i hate living in a small area, no FiOS!
Come to Western MA FIOS !!
I'm a total dunce to this FIOS stuff. Is this suppose to be better than Direct Tv HD? Would like to know. Thanks!!!!
it is better then direct tv in the quality of picture (as it is never compressed by verizon where as direct tv adds compression to some feeds).
It is uncompressed at the moment, that may change when they offer more than 25 hd channels.
Not necessarily. Verizon is trying to switch to IPTV, if they haven't started already, where you send a signal to the local switching office with the channel you want and they'll then send ONLY that channel to your box. So, your bandwidth will only be taken up by a single channel instead of a bazillion channels, like is what's currently happening to Scamcast.
