Hmm, already have History HD (I think) here in Knoxville, TN, but I'll gladly take TLC and CNN HD if they want to send 'em my way.
I'll pass on the CNN, thanks. But I'll take History and TLC gladly :)
I guess some parts of Howard County don't have FiOS yet...
I would happily take FiOS over comcast and live in Columbia near the Mall..however my apartment complex had signed an exclusivity agreement with Comcast so Verizon couldn't build in my building I countered Verizon with but didn't the FCC pass a law stating that was illegal...yes it is but there is a 90 day cooling off period which puts the law going into effect this month and then once they get approval to build in the complex probaly another 2-3 months before it's available...so right now Comcast is as good as it gets...

I'm in Nashville and I was just checking my channel lineup and saw that Comcast has added TLC HD, Disney HD, ABC Family HD, CNN HD, Discovery Science HD, and AMC HD. This HD thing finally seems to be rolling on Comcast. Still waiting on ESPNews HD!
Christ, everyone is getting these channels except cablevision
and all comcast has to do to make room for these channels is further compress existing ones!
A message popped up on my box today in Anne Arundel county about CNN HD. We got History HD and TLC HD a while ago.
The same channels are scheduled for Baltimore according to a postcard we got.
Got these here in Southern Ariz a month ago, great pics on HistHD but only 25% of programs on CNNHD is HD. Enjoy.
Like squeezing 10 pounds of crap into 5 pound bag!
Also got AMC and Animal Planet today. These were previously unnanounced.
It's hard to get excited about new HD content on Comcast now that the cat is out of the bag about them squeezing three channels in a space meant for two.
@WheelSee I live in Columbia as well and had a similar conversation with my rental company. They also brought up Comcast's exclusivity agreement, but I reminded them that was for CABLE service. Since FiOS doesn't use the same coax lines it doesn't count any more then satellite service. Verizon has already been out twice now to survey the building.
Now my only worry is that article about Verizon not being able to do 100% fiber in apartment buildings.
No they do run fiber into the apartments...I previously lived in The Elms at Montjoy and we were the first apartment with it installed there(in fact I wanna say it was probaly one of the first MDU installs Verizon had done) and they ran fiber to the fourth floor...

Come on COMCAST customers! Demand they add HDNet and HDNet Movies. Far and away better than the stretch-o-vision crap channels Comcast has BEEN adding all across the country.
