Reusable Ixp-Note makes Post-It Notes look antediluvian
Rest assured, we've seen some seriously sophisticated takes on the famed Post-It Note, but Girton Labs may have the most ingenious twist of all. The Ixp-Note, which is listed as "currently in development," is little more than a recyclable, reusable Post-It with oodles of intelligence. The device relies on low-cost electronic circuit printing technology, enabling users to select a time / date via the printed scroll in which they'd like to be reminded of whatever they just jotted down on the highlighted strip. When the time comes, an alarm similar to that found in a musical greeting card will sound, jolting the memory of the note holder and potentially saving the day. As it stands, there's no telling how much each of these will cost, but considering that the battery should last at least a year, you won't have to have too many spares around, anyway.

I would have to say that this is way cool. Sure beats my "palm pilot" [writing on my hand]
schmitty338 @ Apr 10th 2008 12:24PM
Cool idea...but not practical IMO, just another thing to add to clutter...I have an HTC Touch (Vogue) that is my media player, organizer, scheduler, phone, note-taker, etc...and, like the vast majority of people who may want one of these, can easily program any reminder in it for years to come and choose how I want to be reminded at that.
Definitely cool, but given the ubiquitous infiltration of smartphones/PDAs, I don't see a large market for it.
Hraefn @ Apr 10th 2008 3:27PM
Well, I certainly don't want to tape my smartphone/PDA to the fridge just to remind someone to throw out the garbage or order pizza, so yeah, I really think there could be a market for these. ^^

Ubiquitous PDAs/smartphones? Get wise to yourself . . .

Before the flood (deluge). Meant to imply that something predates an ancient flood, usually that of Noah or another ANE flood story (i.e. the Gilgamesh Epic).

Brilliant use of the word antediluvian!!!
Whether or not this will make it, I don't know, but I have to disagree with the above post. I am on my MBP all the time and although I do use Stickies as well as a PDA and cell phone to make notes--I still end up using Post-It notes the majority of the time. It's simply quicker and easier, and I can write a note for someone else and hand it to them.

As a post it note fanatic. I would like this.

"Ctrl + Command + D - I love my Mac."
So wait, Control, plus Command, plus D, minus you love your Mac?
I'm lost, you have to give away your love for your Mac just to search something? Seems like a lot of hassle for nothing. If you switch to PC, it's much easier, and you don't have to give anything away...you just type it into Google. Very simple my friend.
But hey, Macs, they just work...lmao...

Wow, pretty strong reaction. It's just convenient, that's all. Google works great too, and I probably use it more often day-to-day. Just chill on the comments.

The Times said that these should be on sale next year for around £10 for a pack of 10. A.k.a £1 each.

First the 8 track tape now the Post It note? No way!
What... are they going to make that new contraption in all those cool neon colors too?
The other thing is if one is a true Post It note lover, you can't just post one.
