ASUS Eee PC 900 gets unboxed
Yeah, you already knew what this 9-incher looked like from our time spent with it over in Germany, but there's just nothing like seeing a spotless machine escape from its factory packaging and delight its new owner for the first time. Hit the read link below for more shots, and do your best to withhold that growing pang of jealously, will ya?

What could he make?!? An Eee Laptop?
Oh wait....
Well he could add a swivel screen, and make it look like those Kohjinshas. It might make that touchscreen a *tad* bit more helpful.
He'd fit it into a DS enclosure.
@amol: It doesn't have a touchscreen. It has a multitouch trackpad
@linuxamp
That is actually why I am going to buy this thing - portable emulator central. Welcome to my new NES, SNES, N64, and GBA. It's port time! What they wouldn't give me out of the DS I shall receive from the Eee. Perhaps I should change my post name to Eee. Leigh :)
But I am not THAT dorky...
any sites in Asia selling it already? Could we start placing orders, cannot wait for it to be for sale in usa/canada .
Can't wait to see Dell's.
I'll wait till the Intel Atom version comes out, and to see whatever comes out of the new cloudbook.
Snore. I'm still happy with my Kohjinsha. 7" 1024x600 rotation touchscreen, 120GB HDD & bluetooth. Bye bye eeepc.
yeah, if you are willing to pay 2 or 3 times as much - sure.
hmmm.... the hp mini-note 2133 offers full keyboard and 1820X800 resolution. about the same price too
@asiandude.
Dont spread false info the hp 2133 is 1080 lines not 1820... And no the price is not the same is 50% more expensive for comparable features...
1) use the reply button please.
2) The HP is $499 and up. The 9" Eee PC will probably cost more than $399.
@chad
The reply doesn't always work.
It's a little better than the 701 but I still prefer it due to it's size, touchscreen options and lack of a brick
If you really want cheap as chips- why not hang-on for the £99 Elonex? It does look a bit more like a "One" competitor, than a competitor for the eeepc- but looks like fun nonetheless.
@Jo3
I have bought three Eee PC's and none of them have "warped spacebars" ave you ever actually used an Eee PC? or are you just sitting at home in your bedroom pretending to be a journo?
I thought that the price was coming to $499.99 for the US market - my understanding is that ASUS fought for this before they were going to release the animal into the wild. I think that is why there are two options- the XP with the 8Gb SDHC and the Linux with the 12Gb SDHC. I haven't heard anything about it being $600 US. It will be more expensive in UK and EU, but in the US, I think it's gonna be cheaper.
Are there official numbers on the battery life improvement that Atom is supposed to make on UMPCs? I think that would be my only reason for waiting, else I'm gettin one!
i am reseller for asus eeepc and the specs for the new eeepc are as follows
