First Starbucks switching over to AT&T WiFi
Starbucks said it would transition to AT&T-provided WiFi sometime this spring, and it looks like T-Mobile's getting the boot right on schedule. The first Starbucks to switch over is just 4.2 miles away from AT&T corporate headquarters in San Antonio, at 5321 South Broadway Road, and the rest of the country should come on market-by-market. Anyone else seen any activity? T-Mobile customers still getting access, as promised? Let us know in comments!

Great news for iPod Touch & iPhone users!
I don't even think starbucks in Canada has wi-fi period LOL so consider you guys lucky.
Unless its only the starbucks I go to in canada that doesn't have wi-fi?
Actually you might want to go visit other Starbucks. Some starbucks here in the bay area don't have wifi either, a rare occurance but i've been to a couple that don't.
Do they have the LCD showing the current playing song? Have they remodeld that starbucks in the last year?
i live in south florida and a starbucks/barnes and noble that i always vist already has at&t wifi. Eversince i've been going there it has been at&t wifi
Such controversy!
I love starbucks!
I love how I was sad when I switched from T-Mobs to AT&T about the free Wifi/Hot Spot but now Im happy because I have uber service and NOW i get free Wifi!
I'm pretty excited for the Philadelphia market to switch to AT&T. I used to work at Starbucks, and I got the "partner discount" of 19.99 for unlimited, but just never told them I quit back in September. I'm still only paying 19.99, but when I switch to AT&T I will rightfully be paying 19.99 and with my Duetto card and/or when I get an iPhone, I might not be paying at all!
Who cares, Starbucks is justan overpriced outlet of candy with remote coffee flavor. There are thousands of local decent coffee shops that offer free Wi-Fi.Why waste time and money at Screwbucks?
drink real coffee and connect wireless for free!!
I used the T-Mobile wifi service @ a Starbucks today
Why not make wifi for free. From all the money of the overpriced coffee they are making it would make sense to give something back to the customer. McDonalds has free wifi. Then again what do i care about free wifi have an HTC mogul running Rev A but just makes me sad how big companies try to charge for everything when they are already selling their items at an extremely higher price than the competition.
A local bookstore has AT&T for their Starbucks Wifi.
At least I think it does....
Hey if it's free ,and it has none of that 6 month service mess then, me and my PSP will be there.
B&N in Baltimore's Inner Harbor also has AT&T, but had it for years before this recent switch-over. They serve Starbucks coffee but it's not a true Starbucks. B&N just has an AT&T contract.
Can we make sure these Starbucks are dedicated stores, not built-in stores at B&N or even Safeway (a grocery store -- yes, there's a Starbucks inside a grocery store and two dedicated Starbucks near by).
Our Starbucks is still currently T-Mobile. We are planning to get it soon, but the date is unknown.
Oh also, I just wanted to point out that non-subscribers, if you own a registered Starbucks card, you will get only 2 free hours of free wi-fi at any Starbucks location. But Starbucks partners will be getting unlimited access!
The Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble in ParkSlope Broolyn is on the AT&T WiFi Network, but you have to pay to use it (even if you are a AT&T Wireless customer)
You can reach the 14th & 9th Apple Store free wifi from the Starbucks on the corner of 15th & 9th in NYC (Manhattan.) Just putting that out there. :)
I should make a point of switching on WMWiFi when I am in Starbucks from now on so people can use me as a free WiFi access point.
wait... so it just dawned on me.. could tmobile customers with a data plan that offers wifi at all starbucks get out of their contract because of this change?:O
Starbucks in PA Had the AT&T WiFi sign on its doors as early as this past Sunday (4/13/08)
My store on the upper east side of Manhattan just got surveyed today so NYC's transition should be underway and completed soon.
