I don't think its ever been 'difficult' to afford an Apple product...its just sometimes they don't present enough perceived value in the eyes of some. But I never found them difficult to own.
"Update: Looks like MacRumors got duped by its own forum members -- these are fan-made mockups. Oh well, at least we can dream."
Exactly why Engadget shouldn't be trusting some site called "MacRumors". Obviously, my wild guess is that it's a fan site about Macs and other Apple products. Surprise, surprise.
Seriously, Engadget, I don't expect you to be the top professionals in tech, but why post up a story like this? Obviously we should note the fact that:
1. This is from MacRumors - not the most reliable site, and obviously very Apple-fan filled. 2. The photos themselves - Blue background, wasn't that OS X Tiger? 3. Apple rarely leaks anything - Apple has some thing where they like to keep users on their toes, and give them a surprise every now and then. I doubt they changed their minds for this.
So a useless article, showing useless fan-made artwork, and a probably embarrassed (or should be) reporter. I'm betting if mock-ups of other popular products came through on other fan sites, they wouldn't get a mention on Engadget.
I just don't have the need to fully justify a Macbook pro. My Vista laptop with a dual core Intel processor does just fine for using the internet to invest and research stocks. You will go broke trying to have the latest greatest technology but I would rather be frugal with my money. Please don't hate on me because I don't own a mac, you Apple fans should be happy that I am admitting to settle with a PC. Go ahead, keep buying a new Apple product every 6 months, my portfolio will thank you. How is that for ambition?
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
One of these days I will own a macbook pro, (sigh) :(
Talk about ambition.
Exactly, just without the sigh and the sad smiley. It's people like you who are never going to own a macbook pro.

You guys forgot the pics of the 3G iphone:

BTW, this is the original of that piss poor "Australia iPhone" photoshop. Notice that they did not even bother to re-add the reflections.

You don't need to buy an overpriced, underpowered CrapBook.
