We suppose we're pretty easy to please: pack some NES emulation and some decent slide-out controls into a passable PMP form factor and we're sold. Add in a 3-inch LCD, TV-out and a superfluous 1.3 megapixel camera... what more could we ever ask for?
pardon the ignorance but do you get the emulator from torrents or does this (and similar systems) come with the emulator preinstalled? if so then do you have to get these at shady foreign stores? I mean I'm assuming they're not at best buy, but where exactly?
If youre talking about the emulation software its in the firmware. If youre referring to the roms then I'd be willing to bet that theres a few on the cd that comes with the PMP the others I'm sure youd have to download.
10mp CCD camera with 3x optic zoom, night shots, HD video recording, HD-ready screen with HDMI-out, 16-32 (up to 1000) gb flash (HDD) memory, usb 2.0 ultra-speed support, wi-fi 108-300mbps speed, build-in browser, VoIP, fring, ICQ, windows app support (like office, mail, ect), qwerty kb, crysis in 60+fps, 2-core CPU, dedicated video acceleration, build-in teleporter device, build-in 52-inch projector...
It was an honest question, and than I figured it out. However since I was short on time, I didn't bother to correct it, and thought it might help someone else who didn't know what PMP stood for.
Not to mention, I was also commenting on how I liked the device for it's minuscule size.
"Ten thousand calendars" "Many languages selection(English/Chinese)" "Support the big capacity games that exist in card, each card contains the big capacity games" "Support NES internet format to download games" "Movie play function, support ASF format of MEPG-4, or by the software to transfer into ASF format to play" "Support video timing recording, in advance to set the time when record the TV programs"
Think that last one means it has a TV tuner?
Oh, and I would like a touchscreen, doesn't look like it has one.
I have a similar PMP since last summer, i paid 29$ on ebay and love it.
To answer a question from @Decapitor ; the emulator is built in, you only have to supplied the ROMs, the full NES american package is availlable in torrent and it's only 196Mb.
The great thing is that it have a memory feature that save the current state of the games you play (16 slots in mine), wich the original NES don't have.
NES, mp3,very good mp4, decent 1.3camera, text reader and voice recorder, nokia battery type and charger, USB cable and a pouch, for 29$, you can't loose.
I'm more puzzled at the widescreenish format for NES games, and the controls look more like a SNES layout than nes...
first person to make a sexy snes/nes pmp with support for so many codecs my brain will fry wins teh warz. big L and R buttons required (similar to the size on the snes controller, the best controller designed ever)
And for a good dose of mis-representation they have a video of what looks like a PS2 or better game on it.. complete with what looks like some sites water mark.
does that remind anyone else of that fanmade psp mod that was out a while ago? that was only a cg render, but it looks like this design is pretty close
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"

dude that is awsome, way better than playing NES on an iPod touch
It'd be better if it were packing SNES in there also...
Nice Real Genius reference there rouge...such an under-rated, not to mention under-quoted, classic.
I really don't get the point.
What's not to get? it's a PMP + NES emu..
But why?
Because the DS sucks for NES Emulation...
And because NES games are fun to play.
And why not? It is not like you HAVE to use the NES emu feature.
That is so unfair! And we were going to make you King of the Winter Carnival.
Please.. I am sure that these crap emulators will crumble if you try to play real NES games like Summer Carnival 92 Recca...
This looks so .... familiar....
http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/11/fan-made-psp-mockup-is-far-sexier-than-the-real-thing-will-ever/
That's the first thing I thought of also! I guess whoever designed this thought it was a good design?
And that PSP design was really just a more polished version of this:

thats exactly what I was thinking. its like the same
Those chinese manufactures are out to prove something. This little device is pretty nice and I think kids could appreciate its features.

I second ^ person's query.

Yeah, it does look like it.
That is... Nice...
"what more could we ever ask for?"
I don't know, but someone will find a way of making it seem like it isn't enough :P
What more could we ever ask for?
10mp CCD camera with 3x optic zoom, night shots, HD video recording, HD-ready screen with HDMI-out, 16-32 (up to 1000) gb flash (HDD) memory, usb 2.0 ultra-speed support, wi-fi 108-300mbps speed, build-in browser, VoIP, fring, ICQ, windows app support (like office, mail, ect), qwerty kb, crysis in 60+fps, 2-core CPU, dedicated video acceleration, build-in teleporter device, build-in 52-inch projector...
What less could we ever ask for? xD
Right, so I know this is kinda lame, but what does PMP stand for?
And this thing rocks for the fact that it is small and ultra portable!
What a minute.... Portable Media Player..... I feel like a retard.
And you still felt the need to post it huh? Bravo.
It was an honest question, and than I figured it out. However since I was short on time, I didn't bother to correct it, and thought it might help someone else who didn't know what PMP stood for.

apparently it has
"Ten thousand calendars"
"Many languages selection(English/Chinese)"
"Support the big capacity games that exist in card, each card contains the big capacity games"
"Support NES internet format to download games"
"Movie play function, support ASF format of MEPG-4, or by the software to transfer into ASF format to play"
"Support video timing recording, in advance to set the time when record the TV programs"
Think that last one means it has a TV tuner?
Oh, and I would like a touchscreen, doesn't look like it has one.
They haven't quite perfected the technology for a portable digital TV tuner yet, so I don't think they would count on that quite yet
You can plug an AV chord in and record from anything
Good God!
It's a 130MP camera!!!

It's a 3 mega pixel camera.... read the specifications....
Looks nice...
Nahh, PSP FTW!!!!!!!

Really the package is that big?!?! How many games were there for the NES? lol most of them weren't bigger than like 8 kb (or Kb)
Qsat, what model and make is your PMP?
It has no name, here is one identical; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140225818354
The game pack on torrent is 198Mb and have 687 games.

anyone notice the PS3 laptop is $17,000+ already on ebay? that's some weird wild stuff
That's a pmpin' invention
And for a good dose of mis-representation they have a video of what looks like a PS2 or better game on it.. complete with what looks like some sites water mark.
why spend alot of money just to play some old boring game on that thing where you can get an original NES. i don't get it.
I bet a NES is cheaper than that thing.
Yes, but does it play Crysis?
No, but apparently it does play Prince of Persia 2: Warrior Within.
That's what the game shown in the first image is (or maybe PoP 3: The Two Thrones), which, if true, would have been absolutely amazing.
Reminds me of an iriver design i saw last year
http://kotaku.com/gaming/iriver/iriver-enters-the-portable-gaming-market-146153.php
does that remind anyone else of that fanmade psp mod that was out a while ago? that was only a cg render, but it looks like this design is pretty close
does this post remind anyone else of a comment made earlier?
So, how do I get my hands on this thing?
Why does an NES-emulating PMP show screens of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones?
NES sucks. SNES/GBA/MAME, now that's the real deal.
I love the form factor too..
can tell how to upgrade so i can play 16 bit games
