Why shenanigans? It wouldn't be that unusual to get a SUBSIDIZED 3G iPhone for 2 Hundie in exchange for a 3 year contract (yea, I said it! 3 years). Probably makes good business sense since (it kills that pesky unlocking problem and we the users walk away with a crazy BARGAIN)!!
