Man stages Wii Fit experiment to lose weight, gain fame
About a year ago, one morbidly obese (er, a tiny bit chubby) man began a quest to find out what happens when you stop being polite and try to exercise via Wii Sports (see above). Apparently after losing 9 pounds, dropping two points from his BMI, and 3-inches from his waist, he's ready to go again, this time with the Wii Fit. Sure, it sounds like a second-rate Super Size Me publicity stunt -- and it probably is -- but who doesn't want to see just how lean the Wii's newest accessory can get you? Now, the tubby 191 pound man will run himself through a rigorous Wii Fit program for five shocking weeks. The stunt has already scored him an early Fit from Nintendo, so there's no telling where this could go. We expect to see an Adonis or skeleton when it's all over, pal -- either will do.

yeah, suck in that gut.
Too bad for this guy Wii Fit can't regrow hair.
Yes it can (with a little help of photoshop).
ummm....why should we care?
Well I have been keeping my own Wii Fit Diary, but thought it best not to include photos of my rather unsightly stomach: http://blog.webometrics.org.uk/2008/05/wii-fit-diary-end-of-week-1.html
Yeah. I'm a big fat American, and I think this guy is farking crazy. He's not fat at all. And if he thinks he is, he's got a self-image problem.
It's ABSURD, even Nintendo admit that "Fit" from WiiFit is misleading.
I'm in the design industry.. this pic is shopped..
I lost over 30 lbs in the past year or so. I'll tell you exactly what you need to do.
1. Lift weights. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you'll burn.
2. Cardio. I biked to work a lot, 18 miles round trip.
3. Eat less. Eat smaller portions, eat out less, when you do eat out, split your meal with somebody or cut it in half and make it two meals.
4. Get a scale. Weigh yourself daily and keep track of your weight. Expect to lose 1-2 lbs per week at the most.
"...eat out less, when you do eat out, split your meal with somebody or cut it in half and make it two meals."
i don't think she'd appreciate that.
Yeah that man's BMI is so over the top! He was chubby? You guys are taking the piss a little? I can't tell are you?
A wholes 9 pounds? Considering most American gamers are really obese this story is quite sad as most American men would love to look like the Mr. Chubby shown. I of course am not fat, just pregnant, it's a new game called Wii Transexual from Capcom.
"most American gamers are really obese"
source?
Too bad he lost all the weight in his ass.
He didn't loose much fat, he lost muscle from flinging something so light around. The weight lifting perspective here, you need to maintain a heart rate of 220-age*.6 to burn fat, and 220-age*.75 to strengthen your heart. he lost a little fat from more focus on the game, and lost a lot of muscle. he shouldn't have fame so that other people try this pathetic attempt.
Totally agree, Until now, I'd never seen anyone who made themselves look worse by exercising.
I lost 30 pounds (5 pounds a month) just by walking an hour on my lunch breaks and not eating like a retard.
Seems a lot cheaper than this.
Fake (photoshopped)
I didnt know loosing 9 pounds gives you a boner.
It's 181 pounds....NOT 191
This is for all the people saying that this has been photoshopped.
Photoshop can do just about anything to a picture... except change the camera angle. Look closer. It hasn't been photoshopped.
And to the people saying he lost muscle mass.... Do you even know how the human body works? You need to lift weights to GAIN muscle mass. MAINTAINING muscle masss is easy. You can even do it with a light aerobic routine as long as you are excercising the muscles regularly you will keep them regardless of the amount of weight you are lifting.
He looks healthy and strong in the first picture. He looks slightly underfed in the second picture. I don't know about his actual muscle mass or anything else. I do know that he made himself look worse.
If he lost fat, shouldn't I be seeing MORE detail of his muscles, instead of LESS?
