Sexy
indeed.
And doesn't Doom run natively in VGA?
someone had to whip out the doom comment!
It is very sexy, I'm still not sure because they sacraficed some screen real estate for physical buttons.
Oh, Grace Fuller!
nice
HOT HOT HOT......Cmon Sprint you need to release these bady boys NOW.. LOVE THAT INTERFACE...
Thats a nice designed phone. Love the clean lines.
Sprint won't carry it, at least not initially. They may get a revamped version that uses EVDO but at the moment the HSPDA data connection (and GSM voice connection) are not compatible with Sprint's network. AT&T is the logical choice for this, unless Tmo gets off their ass and actually gets their 3g network working in more than one city.
The CDMA version of the Diamond along with the Raphael are already being developed for Sprint. They may actually be beating AT&T to the punch. Remember Qualcomm makes this chipset for both CDMA and GSM. In fact Engadget was the one who posted about the Sprint version of both of those phones a bit back.
Found the engadget article for you
http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/23/htcs-raphael-and-diamond-coming-to-sprint-and-looking-good/
I'm on sprint and I'd rather have this one 'cause the qwerty keyboard just doesn't fit me for this phone.
i really do hope it comes to t-mobile. i haven't had a smart phone in like 6 months. i would totally get this phone.
Sexy indeed
I have to admit, that's a pretty sexy device....sorta stealthy looking.
Sprints Gettin this & The Raphael In The Fall. So dont even waste your time hopin you get this if your At&t, Verizon Or T-Mobile. At&t has enough new stuff already.
Its time for Sprint to start gettin some new stuff first.
Sorry bout that...
I guess you missed the GSM part.
CDMA should have been shelved for WCDMA years ago. Their biggest mistake was building XOHM rather than converting to WCDMA..

I guess you missed this article and the fact that NOTHING in this article says the GSM version is the first version coming to the US.
yawn, HSPDA iPhone > *
Yawn... Apple fanboi < *
How much do you guess? Five hundred? A thousand? EVEN MORE?!? NO IT'S ONLY 99$ ALL THESE FEATURES AND REVERSI FOR ONLY 99$ IT'S AN INCREDIBLE VALUE BUT IT'S TRUE.
That would be nice...
Ballmer... What a douchebag. :p
More like $499 + 2-year contract...
If this is bieng released in Europe first doesnt it mean its only going to be gsm when it gets released in the US...
Anyone want to buy a slightly used HTC Touch? Come on, it's only 2 months old.
:(
I second that. Gonna ebay mine when this baby comes out
GSM or CDMA
Its very sexy...BUT...just realized its almost like a shiny glossy black ZUNE...hmm....
the brown zunes look like cr*p and yet this...
I knew it! It looks like Zune 80, yeah? Damn, this baby is soooo hot!
Looking at the specs, this thing is not designed with USA market in mind. HTC is learning well from Sony Ericsson.
Not only that but this is HTC first shot at mainstream Europe. As cool and advance as the HTC touch is and their previous models, they have had no or very little appeal to the average Joe. Looking at the size, interface and specs HTC has done a major effort domesticating the brand.
It's an interesting phone for sure and the size is just right as well, not tiny but neither is it brick sized like the iPhone or Zune80. The potential of becoming a top seller is definitely there, especially since SE has been slacking the latest 12 months by recycling their models using new and bland designs.
:p~~~~
Stunning
Who needs Anroaid
I do.
Maybe I do too.
Er... Who needs a spellchecker.
whooooooaaaaa sexi.....who's your daddy......
Hello !
Pretty pretty cool phone isn't it ?? I would love it if it had a nice flat back.

It actually has a flat back - but the edges are rounded and the design on the backside cover make it look kind of weird - but it's flat. Check out all the pics, you'll see.
This is rather tempting - I've been using the iPhone since October and am quite willing to have a different-looking phone with 3G connection. VGA screen is definitely the way forward. GPS too! Man, if only there's a thin keyboard somewhere...
I wish I could get this. It looks so smexy and nice. And the interface looks really nice. Looks like the iPhone has some competition with this and the Samsung Instinct.
Wow. Not a huge fan of the physical aesthetics, but it's still quite nice.
900/2100 HSDPA? No, in fact, you do not like us.
Now please launch raphael soon please, htc
Why are people saying this isn't coming to Sprint?
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/04/23/htcs-raphael-and-diamond-coming-to-sprint-and-looking-good/
I thought that was a pretty indication that it was. Sure it won't be the GSM version... Cause like Duh, Sprint uses CDMA (we know that, stop acting like you are a know it all, because you know cell phone 101).
It sounds like Sprint is getting the Raphael and the Diamond. My hope is that the Raphael is just the Diamond with a keyboard... That would rock, and I would pick one up!!! And use it on my SERO account.
Touchflo 3d looks really neat. As for the Iphone wanna-be comments... Sure, Apple did something cool and everyone else is copying it, and making it run on hardware that runs on a 3G data network... Woot!!! Which is what the Iphone should have had in the first place!
Truth!
The only problem I have with the "copying" is that most of these "iphone killers" don't match up when it comes to screen size, touch sensitivity, and screen resoultion from what I can tell.
Sure the specs sound great. But I'm also just as interested in having a phone that looks sexy, feels comfortable in my hand, and has a great interface.
This phone would pretty much be mine if it were just a lil larger and I knew how well the "touching" part of it works or will work.
From most people I hear from the iPhone is very responsive. I've even tried one out for like a 2 mins and it was pretty much very accurate. So if this is close to that then good for them.
My ideal phone would be the the 3G iPhone with keyboard. Slideout of clamshell I can't decide on though...
Thats HOT!
However the screen doesn't look as large as the iPhone. so I doubt I'll be getting this.
Still though I'll keep an eye out for it. If it does come to Sprint and I get a discount on it as a long suffering member I might just continue with them...
Why is the Engadget poster happy about VGA? What does that do?
What about a full keyboard??? Love mu Mogul!
Raphael will have a keyboard, and hopefully will look closely to the diamond. So hold your horses.
This thing is really worth a "DIAMOND". Someone said iPhone is cool.....guys iPhone is so 2007....welcome to the new era....look at d interface and d sleek n sexy design...HTC is the king.
Surely...it can only go to AT&T...its GSM (no Sprint or Verizon guys) also it has 3G n HSDPA....what will it go to T-mobile for ...to under-estimate its potential.
Well...windows mobile is coming up with something now...sexy interface but hope its stable now.
Lets c what Sony does with its X1...which indeed is also built by HTC...2 phones same features, cool interface, sexy looking...just dat X1 has a full qwerty keyboard which Diamond must be having on-screen. Let X1 come out...waiting for both to be taken by AT&T :)
Heyyyyyyy....just found out...its tri-band...WTF....its not USA bound then....look for a pricey unlcoked one guys :(
