LG claims Scarlet 42LG61 is world's thinnest LCD HDTV with built-in tuner
Maybe our math is off, but we're fairly certain 44.7-millimeters equates to around 1.76-inches. Strangely enough, LG is claiming that its Scarlet 42LG61 is actually the world's thinnest LCD HDTV, and we all know Hitachi's definitively thinner 1.5-inch family just started shipping to US consumers last week. Of course, maybe it just meant the slimmest it has ever produced, but we digress. The set is apparently loose in South Korea, featuring a 1080p panel, 120Hz technology, a 600,000:1 contrast ratio and four HDMI ports. Granted, the previously veiled set won't run you cheap, as you'll walk away ?2.5 million ($2,427) poorer should you choose to take one home.

Update: LG clarified the situation. It's the slimmest out there with a TV tuner built-in. Nice.

CLEAVAGE
Where dude?
What cleavage? I thought you actually needed to have breasts to have cleavage.
I have the LG 32lb9d and it is amazing. Granted it's my first HDTV, but nonetheless I'm very impressed. And I got it for only $700 after taxes, shipping, everything.
Dave? ok. what does your reply have to do with cleavage? NOTHING! foo.
Yay for korean models!
I need her to be my housewife.
But, I'm a sick sick man and her clothes would be torn to shreds and she'd be covered in DNA.
TMI
flashpoint. mm. yeah. we're gonna have to go ahead and ask you to refrain from humor from now on. MMkay?
You mean "attempted" humor
I don't think that was humor. It was a bit too Dahmer-esque to be humor.
@ flashpoint
do you have some abraisive tuberculosis or something?
I still don't understand why he would replace her clothes with his hair. You internet people and your weird fetishes.
Pretty sure you meant something like 60,000:1 not 600,000:1.
600,000 to 1 contrast ratio? Is that a typo? Maybe I've fallen behind on LCD technology, but I'm pretty sure thats a little unrealistic.
Nope. 600,000 to 1.
Manufacturers each have different ways of determining contrast ratio. Although I have nothing against Samsung, I think this TV is hot, it's contrast ratio is probably no better than its competitors 3-4k ratios.
And it has the world's thickest base that I've ever seen
that what she told me
You're doing it wrong.
That's what she said!
sometimes old cliches need a Fresh New Kick!
@phanbuouy: Fail.
@Eric: that's what she told you.
You could have said - "That's what came out of her mouth."
its actually more likely to be 600:1 ansi. Contrast is the "Lines of resolution" of yesteryear.
Compared to the Hitachi, it is the worlds thinnest HDTV. The Hitachi that is shipping is a monitor, not an actual TV. Of course, the thing is, I saw the Samsung HDTV at CES this year and it is only 1 inch thick. So officially, the LG is the thinnest TODAY. Of course that always changes.
that is one ass cluttered promotional photograph
yeah, get those stupid TVs out of there so I can see how much the model will cost.
Not this again. Away with all the people on the pictures. What do they really sell, her or the TV?
Well it says worlds thinnest... :D
Lighten up, Francis.
LOL at Stripes reference
Their currency reflects my political views.
Awesome.
nicely done
No, No, No... They misread or mistranslated the release. It's the worlds thinnest Model! Not TV model.
That's right. The news is actually talking about the model, thinnest in terms of her body and breasts. Not the TV.
Worlds Thinnest LCD HDTV named Scarlet. Nice.
that's slick
sorry, Paris. one catchphrase is all you get with your 15 minutes.
This is clearly just another iphone rip off - just bigger.
haven't you actually got anything else to moan about Mcfan?
apple iphone was ripped from LG's prada.... typical apple... nothing original to say or make...
kicks. you haters are really that incapable of detecting sarcasm that you'll eat your own? priceless.
Koreans are hot.
I'm pretty sure we have this tv in my work. It's either this one or one that looks exactly like it but with a different spec.
I may be wrong though, but if I'm right then it's loose in the UK too. And also, if its the same one it's got the weirdest power button ever. You have to touch the metal rim that goes round the hole in the bottom of the tv to switch it on and off.
that's what she said
phanbouy, are you just going around saying "that's what she said" on every post here? it's really a joke to be used sparingly.
actually, i used it once strictly speaking. twice if you count my much maligned alternate usage of it.
But I thought your "You have to touch the metal rim that goes round the hole in the bottom" fit well enough so ;P
Its obvious what his post has to do with cleavage - his TV came with everything, including cleavage.
She is not Korean, maybe SE Asian? So go to SE Asia
