Man I still don't get these things. These are the lamest excuses for AV receivers. I just set up a complete home theater with a 125" projector. The problem is the projector only has one hdmi. I bought a 56" last year and that only has 3 hdmi's. Like many enthusiasts, I have a 360, ps3, wii, cable, hd-dvd, and a computer to hook up. They all use hdmi except the wii. That's 5! I have yet to see a receiver at any price with this. Half the back of these things is s-video connectors and RCS'a. Seriously, I've only use RCA connectors for tape players and the early DVD players 20 years ago. Now I use 1 stereo set with a ipod dock and the rest is optical or HDMI. What there need to be is a receiver that powers speakers and and connects to a network for computer streaming; that is all. Then a interchangeable switcher(that connects with one big cable to the receiver or through one set of each different type of connector) that can came in different forms and be replaced when the new connectors come out. Right now I would be happy with a 7 hdmi switcher that switches optical at the same time. Please someone build this!
The Sony STRDA5300ES comes with 6 HDMI connections. Not sure how well it performs, but it is an ES receiver so it should be better than their low end stuff.
