Fujitsu Handy Drive now does 400GB
Fujitsu's long-running and questionably-named Handy Drive line of external drives got a bump today with the Handy Drive 400. As you may imagine, the 400 packs 400GB of storage on a 4200rpm platter and connects via USB 2.0. The entire, sleek case measures just 82 x 141.5 x 22mm and weighs in at 230g. It's available in Japan -- US release and pricing surely to come.

For some reason the name Handy Drive reminds me of Handy Man from In Living Color.
Up, up, and awaaaaaaaaay!
hmmm. kinda reminds me of the sandisk cruzer contour usb sticks, quite a lot infact. http://www.gearlog.com/images/clickclicksansa.jpg
So why is the name questionable? Seems handy to me.
Just loving the storage capacities going up and the units getting smaller and prettier. So cool.
Shame about the speed though... 400GB with 4200rpm is just torture. :(
it's on USB, you are not going to notice anything with a faster rotation speed.
besides, running at 4200rpm means it can use less power too, and not needing an extra usb cable for power.
@me: I disagree. Put it this way, I have a 40GB 4200rpm drive ripped out of my ThinkPad and is now my external drive with USB 2.0, and the search time is still noticibly greater than my 5400rpm drives in the same external case.
"Fujistu's long-running and questionably-named Handy Drive line of external drives..."

Methinks either Engadget writers should drop the snarky-for-the-sake-of-snarky attitude, or actually *explain* what they mean when they drop a snark - because clearly, the multiple personality disorder level is rising here....
Or heck - get an editor to proofread these things? :)
[But we have one...]
Ok, get one who knows how to proofread and you know... edit? :)
I think they simply mean handy sounds goofy... doubt there is an ulterior motive to that here... me thinks you need to edit your comments :)
does it come filled with dolphin care material?
Great. Call me when it does bluetooth FTP and has its own internal battery. Until then, it's not very "handy" to me.
