Mtron says its Pro 7500 is the fastest SSD around
We've had a little love affair going on with storage vendor Mtron ever since we saw that "battleship" SSD RAID array, and it looks like the company is after our hearts once again, this time with the Pro 7500 series of SSDs, which it says are the fastest around. That's really only half-true -- while the 120MB/s write speed is definitely the fastest we've seen, the 130MB/s read speed is the same those Greenhouse DH-SSDGD drives we just saw a couple days ago. Still, that's mighty fast -- too bad these are probably going to be priced into the stratosphere like Mtron's other SSDs.

well, technically, it isnt half true. its all true.
since it has the fastest write speed, and tied for fastest read speed, that makes it the fastest.
just think about, youll get it.
Priced to the Stratosphere?
Try EXOSPHERE!
=O
Austin is right. It is the fastest. Go Austin
If I could get the 8 GB for somewhere near 1/4 the price of the 32 GB, I'd probably buy it. They're trying to replace hard drives completely with huge capacities, but they stand to make more money if they recognize and monetize their niche. Make them fast, make them small, make them last.
...and I'll use a 1 TB HDD at home for real mass storage until SSD tech becomes truly economical.
Heck, you know what, make it 4 GB. I can get by easily with 4.
I need at least 16gb's for software only.Maybe one for about 300 bucks?
And then everything else I would use a typical hard drvie.
I agree with Ace b
16 gigs with a reasonable price and use a 250+ USB external hard drive for your storage.
ExtremeTech did a review on the Miron drives that was posted this morning:

All I can say is, at least they announce their prices, so I can go ahead and dream about how long it would take to save up for one...
Call me when they make the least (expensive) SSD in the world or American or Canada or wherever they claim this time.
*pops a 64mb SD card into a cheap USB reader*
Consider yourself called :)
I contacted www.ssdisk.eu, today, about the 16GB 2.5" MSP 7000 MTRON.
The price is ... 372 euros not including the 21% Belgium tax !!!
As if...
I also asked about the MSP 7500 16GB but these are not coming until sometime in June and they have no idea about the price.
I am not so sure the new Mtron PRO 7500 is the fastest, check this:
