Panasonic reveals duo of HDD-based Strada in-dash navigators
Just two days shy of their one-year birthday, Panasonic is introducing a couple of successors in the Strada F-Class line. Announced in Japan, the June-bound CN-HX1000D and CN-HW1000D are both destined for gaping holes in dashes and possess a 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution display, built-in Bluetooth, iPod compatibility, AM / FM tuners, digital terrestrial TV tuner, DVD / CD player and an internal hard drive for storing map data and Sade jams. The only noticeable difference is the physical size; the former is a single-DIN unit while the latter touts a double-DIN frame. These two also allow for home control, so you can lock your doors, turn the heat down and flip off the porch light from the driver's seat. Sure sounds pleasant, if only they weren't ¥354,900 ($3,388) apiece.

Too bad you really can't put these high-end systems in high-end cars.
It would cost me $5000 just to have it put into my G35's dash!
Now that's funny, I thought that people who buy "high end" are wealthy enough to actually afford it...
Haha who gave you that idea???
Right after i graduated i ran to the dealership and picked up a G35. I have to skip dinner every now and then so i can make my car payment....but sooooo worth it :P haha
Seriously.....why are these things always so f'ing ugly. Can someone please spend some money for a real designer.
And people said that the empeg (Rio Car) was expensive. It's too bad all the in-dash mp3 players on the market are a major step backwards compared to it. The empeg designers are having a 10 year party for the original model this summer.
Or you can go buy and install a Pioneer Avic D3 today for under $900...but maybe thats the retail price...ahhhhh....so one could prob get one at Bestbuy for about $3199.00, now THATS a Deal!
You are recieving a call from your dog.
