E-TEN prepping dual-SIM glofiish DX900?
Rumor has it that E-TEN will be unveiling a new Windows Mobile set at Taiwan's Computex next month that sports -- count 'em, one, two SIMs. The so-called DX900 (pictured) in the glofiish series should be quite a powerhouse, too, with triband HSDPA, quadband GSM, 3 megapixel autofocus cam, FM radio, 256MB of ROM with microSDHC expansion, GPS, motion sensor, and that all-important VGA display that's probably (hopefully) going to come to define high-end WinMo devices from here on out. We don't see any particular reason why this one wouldn't come to fruition; dual-SIM phones are pretty commonplace in Asia, though the presence of triband HSDPA is a pretty rare feat in that bunch. Anyone feeling an itch to import one of these stateside?

Looks VERY like an HTC Touch. But then so do all the recent E-TEN designs I can think of...
What's with the name?
Sounds like someone horribly misspelled 'goldfish'!
I'm loving the explosion of 1970's techology that is the FM radio tuner.
I still can't figure out why it's been so hard to put them in phones and certain "best selling" mp3 players for years.
I can't wait for dual sims to become the norm. I'd love to just carry one phone (work line and personal line).
Nice. I hope it's priced affordable to most people and becomes a success.

Yes, anyone feeling an itch to financially back my exploits?
Are they cheaper by the dozen?
wow...could I call my handset from my handset?
Oh, the possibilities of what to say are endless.
*squeals in excitement*
The deal killer for me on all the new E-TENs has been the 64MB of RAM they insist on using. They are really trying to pack everything they can in these things - every except 128MB. It's the only reason I don't own one now. Well, that and because I can't get an English version here in Taiwan. I'd have to import from Hong Kong or Singapore.
Most importantly : let's see if the VGA doesnt slow everything down in the OS :( (unlike my former eten X500+)
On the thought of the X500+ and all the VGA-equipped Glofiishes after it, they all seem to use the same 2.9-inch display, a dimension that makes UI elements just small enough to be frustrating to use with your fingers and not large enough to make scaling up of all UI elements worth the loss of real estate for content. I hope the DX900 uses a larger display, if such a display is manufactured by any of the OEMs from which E-TEN gets their units.
Another thing that bothers me on my X500+ is the fact that the screen is recessed, making it next to impossible to hit all UI elements anywhere near the edges of the screen with my fingers, and I have pretty small fingers. Looks like going stylus-less with the DX900 won't be an issue since there is a glass/hard plastic touch surface that is flush with the body of the device.
E-ten? Gloofish? Isn't it supposed to be Acer in the first place? Anyway right now i'm a sorrow owner of X650. They still can't fix the GSM module which hangs. And that it is one year since model launch. Future models from Glofiish? Nah thank you.
