Yeah, I could've swore that every other time they've mentioned this bundle it was an 80 gb model and I thought they said it would be 500 dollars. Kinda sucks if they decided to hike the price and drop the better model.
I was right, Sony Style has a metal gear solid bundle with the 80gb model for 500 dollars, but its not "limited edition gunmetal gray". So they have two metal gear solid/PS3 bundles. Call me crazy but I'd rather have the cheaper bundle with the higher end PS3.
Uh, apparantly a lot of folks here don't understand what "limited edition" means. Yes, you're getting the 40 GB PS3, but you (presumably) are also getting bragging rights that your PS3 is unique and that none of your neighbors have the limited edition, differently-colored model.
As Ayman has said, you can easily change out the hard drive for something much larger on the cheap. And as BradVT figured out, the bundle on Sony Style is a normal 80GB PS3 together with MGS4.
Yeah, you get to brag that your system has less features and has limited backwards compatibility, not to mention a smaller hard drive for $100 more than the 80 GB bundle.
I think it's fantastic. I was really interested in this bundle, but could not wait for it once GTA4 came out. I knew I was going to regret pulling the trigger too soon, but it looks like there is going to be no regrets here.

40GB PS3? That's a bummer. For 600 dollars...
I mean it was an 80GB, that actually might be alright....

You know you can change the Hard drive to a 250GB or 500GB

Yeah, but no PS2 compatibility.

The wikipedia page for PS3 has a chart that shows very clearly the difference between the 40GB and 80GB models. It isn't just HDD space:

It does clearly say 40GB on the box shown...
