Zvue Spirit: love it or leave it
If there's one thing that could put a stop to terrorism once and for all, it's this DAP. Nothing strikes fear into the heart of an anti-American jihadist like this hideous MP3 player loaded up with Deerhoof b-sides and the entire Duran Duran back-catalog. The next time you snake under barbed wire and behind enemy lines, let them know where you're coming from by flashing this baby before you unload round after round of righteousness. Sure, it's only got 1GB of storage, but it's not about how many tracks you've got -- it's about showing off your American spirit with this Chinese-made product.

I love the tags for this post.
America, Patriotic, USA
for a fucking MP3 player...
Flashpoint @ May 18th 2008 11:34PM
Tech savy Jihadists will reconsider shooting it full of holes.
OneLove @ May 19th 2008 11:26AM
I say we fill them with Micheal Bolton songs and drop them over Iraq and Afghanistan. It would end the war.

Anyone who doesn't like it is a Communist!
papafew @ May 19th 2008 6:08AM
I'm not a communist, I'm just french, but I could easily imagine that this ugly piece of shit will fit perfectly all right in all american assholes
fanman @ May 19th 2008 6:25AM
"it's about showing off your American spirit with this Chinese-made product..."
Filled with British duran duran.
intel352 @ May 19th 2008 7:50AM
re: papafew
with a comment like that, you certainly have proven your frenchiness
LC @ May 19th 2008 9:04AM
Not to mention he will eventually surrender to this DAP.
ZeroCorpse @ May 19th 2008 9:06PM
Yeah, thanks for using "reply" to mention that Duran Duran is British well after I mentioned it in the normal flow of the thread (fifth post, even). It's not like your comment was even a proper reply to the original comment (*applauds*) above.
Way to circumvent the dating system and get your post saying the exact same thing I did earlier, and yet take credit for it being "before" mine.
Enjoy your ill-gotten up-vote!
Loonie @ May 20th 2008 1:06PM
Guess he just ain't as patriotic as you, ZeroCorpse.

^ How I lawl'd at that part!
ZeroCorpse @ May 18th 2008 11:13PM
Duran Duran?
You DO realize they're an English rock band, don't you? I'm not sure how they fit with a stars & stripes theme. They would probably prefer a Union Jack.
Colonize Mars @ May 18th 2008 11:15PM
Take that, commies
bernie16wb @ May 18th 2008 11:19PM
I think 1gb might, and I mean might, just be enough storage for all of my versions of the Star Spangled Banner. That and maybe some pictures of the flag if it supports it.
Oh, and my weekly podcast that informs of the current terror level.
BB @ May 18th 2008 11:27PM

ethana2 @ May 18th 2008 11:28PM
I don't want to have to replace my stuff when I move to a more sane country like south korea, japan, or the netherlands, so I think I'll pass on this.

Not picking on Korea here, but it goes to show that no country is perfect. This is just off the top of my head; I'm sure there are similarly bizarre things in Japan and Holland. Including the US, all four countries have made countless contributions to global society, and giving a general criticism such as questioning the sanity of the country is not helpful.
There are literally millions of people that would love nothing more than to be a citizen of any of these countries. And as America still has the largest part in dictating the future of the world, consider yourself lucky to be American where your voice can be heard. Just don't waste it sniping.
happy_penguin @ May 19th 2008 1:28AM
Anti-American sentiment is sooooooo 2007.
nikster @ May 19th 2008 9:53AM
No, Anti-American sentiment is very reasonable throughout 2008. However, it will stop on Jan 20th, 2009.
zender @ May 18th 2008 11:35PM
leave it

Flush it down the potty.
Veltis @ May 19th 2008 5:44AM
Wait, no, you can't do anything to it, it can't touch the ground, be upside down, etc...good luck getting rid of this one once it's obsolete!
Tony @ May 19th 2008 10:24AM
> "Flush it down the potty."
But it's got the American flag on it! That's so unpatriotic, you’ve gotta be a god-damn terrorist!!! That or sane.
I’ll play it on the safe side and assume you’re a god-damn terrorist.
Aguiluz @ May 19th 2008 11:34AM
NO! I'm no terrorist!
Ironic Man @ May 18th 2008 11:40PM
Ah.
More American flags made in China.
Aguiluz @ May 19th 2008 12:29AM
"Ironic" it is. :)
Unknown @ May 18th 2008 11:40PM
leave it.
princeofvegetables @ May 18th 2008 11:48PM
How do you change the volume? I guess with America, it'll always be on Max.
Etaanaru @ May 18th 2008 11:50PM
CS: "No no no, it isn't DAMAGING your hearing, it's LIBERATING it. Huge difference."
MoonMan @ May 19th 2008 12:33AM
No, you got it wrong, top volume is X-treme Loud! If it's not X-treme, then it's un-American (they're so stupid that way)
Josh @ May 18th 2008 11:56PM
a volume button??
Tina Darby @ May 18th 2008 11:57PM
Any article that puts violence and the word 'righteousness' together gets an A+ in my book
Mobius_1 @ May 19th 2008 12:13AM
So every time you turn it on, it plays Star-Spangled Banner, LOUD
This should prove quite popular in the Middle East and Afghanistan, like American flags have been for quite some time (for the wrong reasons we see too much on TV)
substance90 @ May 19th 2008 12:23AM
Damn this is too much. It`s f***** ridiculous!
Dillon @ May 19th 2008 12:28AM
Man... if they just cut off the two bottom points of that start shaped button thingy and repainted it white and red, we could have a Canadian MP3 player for the win!!!
And on the bottom for the Quebec French edition, we could have an inscription saying "I'm a souvenir" or whatever their motto is....
Chef Boyardee @ May 19th 2008 1:11AM
"Je me souviens"... Anyways
Turn the Red button ON and you'll have the China flag.
Turn the Moon button ON and you'll have the Turkey flag.
Turn the Oven button ON and you'll have a famous Star Anise Pods Beef Tenderloin.
And so, and so.
happy_penguin @ May 19th 2008 2:02AM
"I'm a souvenir"
HAHAHA!! :D
Joe Commisso @ May 19th 2008 12:39AM
Perfect for dollar stores across the country! Would make great counter toppers!
Toby Shorin @ May 19th 2008 1:07AM
Holy shit... I was thought it said ZUNE spirit at first, and I almost committed suicide.
Magnificen7 @ May 19th 2008 3:37AM
Ha ha, if you'll commit suicide over a Zune, you need an iPod. I considered killing myself when the Zune hit the market! The end of times I tells ya!
crescentdavid @ May 19th 2008 3:40AM
@Toby ... feel free. I'll throw a glottal zune, zune, zune, dirge sort of sound for in for inspiration. Seppuku to you. In other news, this is the ultimate 7-11 impulse buy.
Tom @ May 19th 2008 4:08AM
Nothing wrong with Deerhoof B-sides ;)
As for the product, Homestarrunner might like it?
Ryan Trevisol @ May 19th 2008 6:42AM

You guys are hatin too much on Americans.
Now if you don't mind, I got a Big Mac to eat.
:)
Galley @ May 19th 2008 8:06AM
Duran Duran is about as British as you can get. They should fill it with Cheap Trick.
Apollo @ May 19th 2008 8:11AM
It only has a + Volume. Only pussies turn down the volume.
