Wow, am I glad this isn't what it'll actually look like...
The fatness is to accomodate a bigger battery so 15% of the population can have thier oh so important 3G which is worthless on ATT because unless you live in one of the top major metros..you aren't going to have 3G anytime soon.
The first pics of the nano were horrid but the actual final product ended up being sleek and sexy. I'm sure the iPhone will be similar.
These are pictures of a CASE. Of course there is going to be some extra padding. How do you look nekkid vs' when you wear a thick hoody and sweatpants? Hello? Cases are always about protecting your $300 device more than making it look sexy. It's a tradeoff....sexy vs. making sure it works when you inevitably drop it?
The 3G iPhone is clearly only a few weeks away..lets spare our panties and not get them all bunched up until it's actually released.
This whine fest is like crying about your food before the server has even brought it to your table..your judging a final product based on pics in a menu!
Oh yeah..if you go back and look at the 'leaked' pics of the 3G iphone from a few weeks back.the one where it's resting on the keyboard you can clearly see the 'hump' and the upper and lower curves towards the top and bottom..that is clearly not a colorwared 1st gen iphone..that is eather the real deal or a mockup based on official specs.
Were is Apples' logo?? hummmm.....

I got suckered once, but I will not buy another Ipod product until they have user replaceable batteries. The only part of the device that degrades with use is the battery, yet you cannot replace it or substitute another battery when the first one runs down. This is planned obsolesence, designed to force you to buy new Ipods when the old battery fails.
Sorry, not gonna do it anymore.

Why does the phone say Cingular?
Couldn't this easily be from someone that looked at the older post of the "case designs" and decided to make a case in rendering and send it to engadget?
It looks like a case for the current generation. I don't know. I just hope it doesn't look like that!

The first Iphone was eaten up by Jobs worshipers just because it had an apple logo. The device is unimpressive, especially for the price.
It's a cellphone. It will get greasy immediately from your fingers and face. It doesn't make you look cool or unique. It makes you look like a tool who spent an obscene amount of money on a cellphone so they could feel better about themselves.
Well I have an iPhone and I definitely don't fit the description you painted.... I bought a phone for £175, not a "way of life" that you appear to assume every iPhone owner bought themself into.

I'm not going to believe this until I see a case render from InCase.
Fake, or done by an extremely incompetent employee. Anyone who was handed the job by apple, or by at&t, would not have put cingular on the screen. In fact, the texture for the screen would have probably been handed to the company directly from apple to avoid any inconsistencies with the appearance of the actual OS.
I remembered the time when the "rumored iPod Nano Video models" are shown here in Engadget. People are calling it ugly, fat, etc.. And when Apple officially released it, and people saw the nano itself, they got somewhat blown away on how cute that thing is.
And this might happen again on the iPhone 2nd Gen.

Dear Eric before you trye to say something think something first and not just reply with bad comments to the other people comments as you almost always do. I am not fun of sports if you imply something about who is stupid or not try to think to say something first and and just criticize people for their funny Asian accent.
