JVC's new Everio S Series GZ-MS100 camcorder does YouTube, little else
If you've been feeling like those videos you've been making of you and your friends dancing to "Lipgloss" haven't been landing on YouTube fast enough, JVC has got you covered. The company is launching the new Everio S Series GZ-MS100 camcorder, a cheapo model designed to get your clips onto the internet as fast as humanly possible. Utilizing CyberLink software and a dedicated "upload" button on the camera, you can share your embarrassing moments with the world in no time at all. The GZ-MS100 records to SD card, features touch sensitive buttons and scroll-bar, and retails for the ultra-affordable price of $349.99. In June, all of your grainy, pixelated dreams can come true.

I think a v-cam with a resolution of 640x480 (VGA) is more than enough.

I wonder how the video quality compares to a Panasonic SDR-S7...

Mr. Topolsky's cynicism is a bit much ( Cliché for clicks? ) - all YouTube videos have the "watch is higher quality" option button now:

There real story here is that a web site has so much impact on culture, that there are dedicated pieces of hardware for it.

Wow a $350 Upload button.
Now you don't have to wait to post that "Booty Shake" video in HD.

"Mr. Topolsky's cynicism is a bit much ( Cliché for clicks? ) - _all_ YouTube videos have the "watch is higher quality" option button now:"
hmm...
From YouTube
You may have noticed that we're now giving you the option of watching _some_ YouTube videos in higher quality.

Too bad this video cam and YouTube don't support HD...
I wish there was an upload to Vimeo button... although Vimeo's HD capabilities have come under scrutiny too.
Engadgetluvsappl @ May 19th 2008 12:37PM
I'll bet you £50 that my N95 8GB can record a video and then upload it to YouTube from ANYWHERE in the world(with a 3.5g connection available) much faster than this thing can.

Could you be a little more arrogant next time.
Aaron @ May 19th 2008 12:45PM
Another useless product for that price you can get a digital camera 8mp+ that feels smaller than my wallet and that records video in better quality.
Wolfticket @ May 19th 2008 1:23PM
Advertising the ability to record Youtube video's on a video camera is right up there with HD images on a stills camera, as far misleading ignorant people goes.
peestandingup @ May 19th 2008 2:38PM
Why would you need to buy a standalone camcorder for $350 just to upload shitty quality youtube-style vids to their site?? Any P&S camera would be more than enough.
ianzhere @ May 19th 2008 4:44PM
"features touch sensitive buttons"
WOW! how did we ever get those buttons pressed before?!

Sony already beat JVC to it with the GC1 - Net-sharing cam. I have one, although I haven't looked into You Tube compatability and guess what, It didn't cost $349 - try $149 and its a 5mp digi-cam too. Yeah, I know, not all that spectacular but just wanting to relate there are cheaper routes, and I am a fan of the Everios, just not this one.
