WTF? I've seen a May 19th and a May 21st release date, what gives?
Where I work, the boxes say do not sell til 5/21, so I guess it's the 21st. :P
true, except (I don't know where you bought it) $90 is still way way cheaper than £70 for peeps in the uk...

Odd... My buddy works in the Target electronics dept and told me they already have then in stock and will be selling them on Tuesday the 20th.
Don't they always release new titles on Tuesdays anyways?
The Target newspaper ad says that they will start selling them at 8AM on Wednesday. I hope they stick to that, since I plan on lining up at my local store.
Usually, Nintendo releases games on Sundays. They launched the Wii on a sunday, they launched Mario Galaxy on a sunday, Super Smash Bros on a Sunday, and Mario Kart on a Sunday. Wednesday is different for Nintendo.

Yeah. When I was younger we just used to stare at a barrel for entertainment too.
Yeah. When I was younger we used to actually get up do something to keep ourselves entertained. It might not have been the smartest of things to do, but I digress.
Nintendo needs to hire some of Apple's supply chain and manufacturing specialists. If Apple can more of less meet iPhone demand at launch, Nintendo definitely should be able to meet demand on some silly piece of plastic.
I thought we agreed no more headlines with "gets official."

I take issue more with the "gets" than the "official."
I was notified that my pre-order had shipped the other day. Can't wait. A little bummed that there's limited multi-player functionality, but my wife and I will just swap off.
Same here. I preordered from Sams. It's scheduled to be delivered on the 21st.
I really think Nintendo's missing the boat on the multiplayer, too. They could have had me for two of these things. Hopefully this will be remedied down the road.

If you didn' t pre-order and can't find one, I'm sure that stores like Sam's Club and Wal-Mart will have them in stock, at least for the first few days.

We have a bit of an obesity problem here in the states. We can't be expected to pay the same price as the rest of the world AND still afford our supersized burger meals.

In the UK we only paid £69.99 (thats about €88!!)
it's high time you realize that europe ALWAYS get shafted. but, be glad you're not living in a developing country, like I am. you'll get a bigger shaft up your ass buying consoles and accessories. Of course, developing countries have their own "perks" along with it.

I did a pre-order at Toys R Us and was told I could pick it up after 5:00 on the 20th. I hope they were right...I feel fat.

If there's no backlash against this in America of all things I'll be surprised. You have to smile at people for 20 minutes on a shopping channel before telling people they're fat.

nintendo have been giving out apologies because it wiifit has been telling kids they are overweight even when they are fitter than most other kids.
Nintendo said sorry because the wii fit does'nt process numbers correctly.
Went to the Rock Center Nintendo store this morning. They had plenty on hand. I waited in line for an hour... and was at the end of the line the whole time. I hate when the happens.
I'm sure if you show up now there would be no line.
I hate that too! Having suffered it is alleviating to know there's someone worse off than you... maybe I'm just evil.
In my opinion, $90 would be better spent on a good pair of running shoes. Or, if you prefer, take an actual real-life Yoga class with a real instructor. Great way to meet girls. The one I know of has about 80% girls.

I picked one up at the Nintendo World store also. I only waited about 20 min. It's probably a little crazier now since it's lunch time
Does anybody know if in the American version if you can use metric units for weight/height? Does Canada use the US version or do they have their own?

I think it's pretty terrible to charge $50 more to people in the UK for exactly the same hardware. There's nothing different, is there? I can occasionally understand that it costs more for on some occasions, but how can they justify $50?
It could be your import taxes are higher than what US import taxes are. Also, having manufacturing and distributing plants in the US also doesn't hurt either.
In Poland total cost is 299 PLN - which makes about 120 USD.. (1USD=2,44PLN). You lucky....

Ok, so I guess that whole bit about people starving from high food prices, and everyone working two or three jobs to make ends meet is a big pile of Wii. No instead, a bunch of fatso's have to alleviate the guilt of their cushy king and queen pixellator western lifestyles with the purchase of the porta piggy workout gamer accessory.
I know, I know, it's fun to rumble and watch people take damage and get own'd as the fanatic herd does a crush18 frag move for the limited wiifit store aisle shelf with police in tow on their all night campout beat.
I'm bummed, I missed the freakshow news and yout videos and the injuries count this time... or wait... this is the 20th ... the match is almost ready to begin.
