Xziex makes water out of thin air, angers Harkonnens
We don't know what's going on here exactly, but we're fairly certain they need a load of these on Arrakis, ASAP. Sure, Muad'Dib may be able to summon sandworms and lead an army of Fremen into battle, but he can't make drinkable water out of thin air, can he? That's where the Xziex comes in. Basically, this intimidating "atmospheric water generator" siphons moisture out of the air and converts it into water -- delicious, clean, healthy water. It may not actually live up to the company's claim of "The Most Exciting Product Ever," but if it does what they say, it's a pretty amazing device. Honestly, the Xziex website does cause a little concern, with its calls for readers to "lock in" their "position," and excited passages about earning potential -- but hey, who can blame them for trying to make a buck?

Stihl suits had the tube in the back of the neck that then gathered water including filtering it from your own body. The water you had to drink to get the Freemen insight was birthingwater from a baby worm
The Harkonnens probably wouldn't have been angry about this unless it pulled melange from the air. But either way, great post. I'm down at the sietch coolin' with Alia.

Your main Ghola,

... how cool would this be tho if you hooked it upto a few Joe cells?!
I think it's vaporware
This stuff is old. I think Engadget posted about a product called the "Dolphin" a few years back that did the same thing. I'll have to see if I can find the website, but they have a few different models geared toward an office or home environment to eliminate the water cooler.
My dehumidifier fills with water after a while. Give me some gaffer tape, a coffee filter, and a mini water cooler and I could make this very device.
When do we get the binary load lifters?
Seriously though, why is this getting pub instead of the Dean Kaman water filtration device? It's no Segway, but still.
They did have these on Akkaris, they were called windtraps. Just read the original again, Its amazing how influential it was, star wars would have been very different without Dune. A gifted youngster from a desert planet, trained in the way of a mystic cult, rises up to defeat an evil galactic empire, and finds out that is mortal enemy is a close relative. George Lucas borrowed all the cool bits but left out the hard sci-fi and eco-message. If you like Star Wars, read the Dune series, its Star Wars for grownups!
Pardot Kynes came up with the idea of terraforming Arrakis, he was there long before the Atreides came to Arrakis
The Golden Path was about preventing humanitys destruction by prompting a massive diaspora
the above is a reply to herbert's estate, damn uneditable comments!
Um, it's a dehumidifer... get over it
I'm still in the middle of book 2 right now.. thanks for the spoilers
"More than a billion people, almost 1/6 of the world's population lack access to safe drinking water. Together, we can help solve this problem.
...
No Water line necessary or special wiring, just plug it in!"
from their website.
Now i'm no genius or anything but if you are having trouble with getting water in your area what are the chances of having electricity? It should be solar powered.
Like I said, keep in mind I'm no genius. Just a random verbalizer.
If you walk without rhythm, you won't attract the worm...
There are high deserts near the coasts in South America where people collect water by hanging bedsheets on clotheslines then wringing out the humidity that accumulates in them.
Shit, the military has huge "water makers". The water is so "pure" that minerals have to be mixed into the water.
Whats the big deal? Its a freaking de-humidifier.....
Aren't the claims of these things making over 1000 litres of water in a 24hour period a bit optimistic. That is quite a bit of water from a small machine.
Sure is based on relative humidity but if you are pulling 1000 litres out of the air you most likely have a large body of water pretty damn close to you.
What I want to know is how much water will these things make a day in the middle of death valley.
So if I put this thing in a gym I will basically drink purified sweat?
mmm I'm not so thirsty!
Muad'Dib ... Muad'Dib ... Muad'Dib
Somebody should market this as a greener alternative for the office. "Go green. Save water. Turn your coworkers' sweat and coffee breath into drinking water."
Hey, they are giving away free websites! I started this one...

they dont even want to get these to people who need them. It is an MLM scam and they want to "sell" it to people for personal use at home.
Never spend another dime on overpriced, overhyped bottle water!
"..but he can't make drinkable water out of thin air, can he?"
I thought he kinda did? At least at the end of the movie version...
Good to see so many have read one of the greatest set of books ever written. ;-)
John Doe, LOVE the website name!! LOL!!
At $1995 a unit, it'll be interesting to see how many people actually purchase one.
Doesn't anyone see the big picture? A child dies every 15 seconds in the world from drinking polluted water. This technology can save millions of lives.
I agree, couldn't have said it better myself. As a matter of fact I liked what I saw here and took the tour. There is a lot of information about how it works so, check it out www.4oursuccess.myxziex.com
You don't even have to give your contact information. You only get contacted if you ask to be contacted. That screams not a scam in my opinion!
Where are these made? Is it an American company?
Thanks, Linda Reinhardt
It's a pyramid scheme where the owner of the link Engadget supplied get's a cut of every person joining with that URL. So thanks to Engadget Trey Burns (the guy behind the watergenerator handle) get's TONS of exposure.
Hey CTA,
You are an abosolute idiot to endorse this MLM Scam and how they
market their product launch to the public. You don't have any
credibility as a expert in the water industry, let alone the business
manufacturing of this product.
First, I'll meet you half way about the refrigerant based concept of
condensing humidity from atmosphere....yes this is a fact...but the
tecxhnology for this MLM group is rediculous....their manufactirer is
Water Pure International listed on the stock exchange under thye
acronym WPUR..their stock a year ago was at 85 cents a share...it has
had a steady decline down to a low of 8 cents a share...
The MLM group responsible as the marketing arm for this scumbag
company has defaulted in production delays after delays to produce
and deliver.....efficiency of a refrigerant based used at 120 volts
is rediculous.
What makes me an expert?...35 years as a Licensed Electrical
professional and also a national ranked water expert.....ther are
legitimate manufacturers all over the world that hold patents and
actually produce small residentail devices as welll as large massive
production units that are totally green running on win\d power to
diesel units.
They have filtration systems and disinfection technologies like
Ul;tra violet and ozonators with recirculation processes in place
raising the EPA bar of minimum swtandards to a very high
level.....they have been in existance and operation .this MLM group
distributors don't even have ny units in their possession and can't
fulfill their promises at the moment
MLM is a joke.....inflated prices to pay high commissions on forced
level matrix...when you buy direct for half the MLM price and get a
listed tested device on your own.......and have a manufacturer
warranty that backs it all up......the MLM company can't even back up
field service, on site repair or have technicians licensed to perform
work on an electrical refrigerant based device that right now is only
a dream yet they are taking in money to guarantee placement.....
As to their website...you are really off base and again don't know
anything about websites....every distributor hyas a cloned website...
Web 2.0 technoloies, the current latent symantic indexing and themed
based content is replicated thousands of time.....so the MLM group
makes money on webhosting and website too......what a SCAM.
Next time you post a blog thread endorsing a technology....either do
your research and homework or get your hands dirty and get licensed
with familiarity in the industry....I'll rip you a new one every time
in this tchnology and business model....
You contribute nothing.....except your stupidity and self
righteousness
throw your computer out the window or open your mouth on subjects you
are an expert.....In my opnion you're an idiot.
