Logitech's new Pure-Fi Mobile speakers do it Bluetooth style
There's no dearth of Bluetooth-based wireless speakers out there, but Logitech put a nice bit of polish to this new Pure-Fi Mobile set, which is always appreciated. The A2DP stereo manages 12 hours of battery off of rechargeable batteries, and can work as a speakerphone with its built-in noise canceling mic. You can charge it up via USB or a wall jack, and there's of course an aux-in jack when you're not feeling in the wireless mood. Expect this one to hit Europe and the States in June for $150.

Finally!!!
At least you didnt say first..
Pretty awesome, would play nicely with my HP Pavilion. In general it's one awesome speaker to carry with you on trips of where every you want to take your music with you while keeping the cellphone in your pocket. My only objection is the price which I find to be on the premium end. Slice the device and bring the price down to $74.99 and then we can talk.
If this sounds even halfway decent it's well worth $150.
I have the iPod version of these and they are one of the best-sounding iPod speakers I've heard, plus the fact they're rechargeable is awesome.
Yes, it's a wonder they're rechargeable, since rechargeable batteries have been all but yanked from the shelves of radioshack and walgreens, because it's much more lucrative to sell hundreds and hundreds of throw aways. Only the construction industry with drills and hand tools have to supply rechargeable replacements to the public.
Try to find your cordless computer rechargeable battery anymore, or any internal laptop battery, that used to be easily replaced with a set of store bought shelf rechargeables.
So, add like 75 bucks to the $150, because the rechargeables won't really be available for replacement, it will be some obscure type that "no free market capitalist public store in the entire USA carries".
Oh look at the pic, it floats in midair too !
(I'm gagging, how do we have so many who fall for every bad new hype item)
I guess you never heard of Walmart, Meijer or batteries.com since you apparently believe that Radio Shack and Walgreens are the only two places to buy rechargeable batteries.
Anyone know it's output! Because I like the idea (I've always liked the idea), but these look a bit small/tinny to me.
Any one know the dimensions on this?
If these work as well as my bluetooth stereo headphones, then it looks like i'll be draining my savings again for this babies...
Pure-fi sounds excellent. Have one for myself and one for my wife. As far as portable speakers for iPod go, these are among the very best.
I had the previous version of these Pure-Fi iPod speakers, and overall I was left unimpressed by the sound. For the price $99, I guess they were okay and the fact they were portable was nice. Overall, though they were pretty tinny sounding and lacking anything at all that represented bass --- they also didn't get nearly as loud as they should have.
Ended up taking them back to Circuit City a few days later. Purchased an Athena iVoice for $40 (steal for the price) which has much much much better sound, but is not portable.
