The Sony VAIO VGC-LJ25L -- not a laptop, not available in America
You've got to hand it to Sony for at least trying a new style every now and again. The VGC-LJ25L sports such an unusual look that people are mistaking it for a laptop, when in fact the system pictured above is another attempt at the all-in-one variety of PC. The system packs in a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 200GB hard drive, Intel's familiar X3100 on-board graphics, a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 LCD display, and a "Sound Reality" audio chip with Direct Sound 3D support. The small keyboard can apparently be folded up when the desktop isn't in use, but it won't help you if you just want to lay back and watch a movie, as it partially conceals the screen. The funky little dude is available right now for ?1,399,000 (or about $1,385) -- in Korea only, of course.

I'm not sure if my sarcasm detector is simply malfunctioning but Sony has been selling machines like these things for years...the Bio P comes to mind actually.
Only the Bio P was about 1000 times the size with about 1/1000th the power.
[For those of you who are total retards this post may or may not have included sarcasm.]
Actually, I'm quite wrong. The Bio P is very similar to this. If only there was a delete button. Now I just look like a retard. AHHHHH the irony...
I actually say one of these in the middle east last year.
saw* ... need edit button please =(
Maybe we should start a petition for an 'edit' button.
well they could have an edit button that would only work for a couple minutes
like u post it and within 5 minutes u can still edit
that looks like an apple. what the hell is technology coming to. damnit
It's not even remotely fruit shaped!
You sure? The apples I see are green, juicy and kinda round. This looks like a computer...........
the only thing good steve jobs ever pulled out of his arse is the iphone. all you apple fanbois have my post low ranked and are making jokes not even related to technology. its engadget not enfood
you know, few years ago i said the same thing to apple.
apple stole the iMac deign from SONY, the keyboard from SONY, but what it proves now is that all the pathetic apple fanboys are idiotically stupid.
maybe it looks like an apple to you, but it isn't edible
It's more like a small Bravia with keyboard but apple?
Go get your eyes check.
wow you apple fanboys need to stop banging steve jobs
i don't care if they say it's not a laptop.
i'll fold up the keyboard and be on my way.
i saw one of these in china shanghai a month ago. it was in best buys too
iMac is a better deal. Even if you don't like OS X you could put windows on it and delete the OS X partition.
For a little cheaper than the VAIO you get a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM, 320 GB hard drive, higher res screen, and dedicated graphics.
...
I agree with hiccabuts-whatever.
What? How is that new? I could have sworn my uncle had a sony thing that looked just like that years ago...
On a side note, what a rip off! It doesn't even have a real graphics card...
Are you an idiot? Does that thing look like it's aiming towards gamers? This will probably be use in offices, banks, school ect...
@ James
Now, now... I know you're upset, but there's no need for name calling.
@ James
Also, you're way off.
No, I'm actually not an idiot, I'm just speculating on the fact that for what you are getting, you could get a computer that can do a lot more such as maybe run 3D modeling programs, games, and all other things that require intense graphics. The hardware in there you can get for much cheaper.
Thank you for being a jackass on the internet. I love it when retards try to sound smart.
Engadget, whats the deal? I saw this desktop computer at my Best Buy months ago.
Which is in America, OUTSIDE Korea, so this isn't KOREA ONLY.
I guess you guys just read about it launching in Korea and assumed it was Korean only when its been out in other markets for a long time.
Has Sony EVER released anything thats not available to Japan but other countries instead? I don't think so.
Yeah, an earlier version of this model has been in Korea for around a year or so.
I think you and some other guys are confusing this with the Vaio LT (or also called LA) series.

My friend has one, and they're pretty awesome. The monitor is nice looking, it's an all-in-one, and I think the keyboard is probably the best ultra-slim, and sleek there is. It was worth every penny. Man, are Vaio computers great.
but sony never give the best stuff to the rest of the world, like how Japan protect their cell phones.
another WHITE computer? way to be original, sony.
Why, you like them in pink?
White's pretty.
you know.. if the price was around ~$2000 then we'd probably have an imac killer here
oh well...
that aside, I swear I saw one of these in best buy a few months ago, so I'm not sure what the deal is with that "not available in America" comment
how about I sell it to you for $3000
It is also available in Australia for $2,799 ( http://www.sony.com.au/vaio/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=34489 )
Why oh Why? Just because of how it looks? I could build a Pc using a Micro atx and have it 10 times as powerful with a 22" to 24" LCD for a fraction of the price. Oh Oh but it doesn't say Sony and it doesn't have that cool see thru plastic around the monitor, sorry.
, not a problem
These are all over Japan as well, they are quite nifty, touchscreen buttons along the side work well, when the keyboard is folded it comes up with the time in big font in the centre of the remaining screen, that got a little "ooh"
touchpad on the keyboard is naff though, can't stand it. and tbh personally I can only see japanese schoolgirls using these things
does it get a AMD Game! certificate?
I'll give you this:
It certainly does save some space.
But beyond that, I think it just looks weird.
at least we get the larger 22 inch version stateside.

Umm, there must be some error... These things ARE sold in america. I've seen one at my step brother's house. It's also an HDTV.
You're probably thinking of the LA series or the LT series.
weight?
Yes.
that's great news
What do you mean "Trying" a new style? These have been around for ages! And they look much better than the iMacs.
I saw one of these new Sony computer in Iran a month ago.
They were very interesting
great computer
